Forums - Gaming - Insomniac says: Players don't want 60 fps, better graphics instead.

Doesn't work well on most TVs, since they refresh the screen at 60 Hz. If you display at 40 fps, you either get screen tearing (if you display every 1/40th of a second) or jerkiness (if the game waits for a refresh).

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

I agree for most games 30 FPS is fine but i personally enjoy my racing and FPS games at 60 FPS.

Long Live SHIO!

I... couldn't disagree more.

I'm constantly lowering graphics on my PC games to increase framerate.

^Well when so many HD fans compalin about the Wii's lack of graphics, and like how Epic mickey isn't so epid because its graphics don't match the concept art, well you can see where people can get the idea that HD fans are obsessed with graphics

they are not complaining about what the graphics look like more than that they've been underwhelmed and overhyped because of the concept art.

happens on the HD systems as well, most notably depicted by the controversy regarding shopped images on pre-release.

The graphics in the game aren't bad, but people become very upset becomes it doesn't match up with what it was shown to be. It's about a perceived sense of deception, rather than perceived lack of quality.

But isn't it their own fault? Did anyone in their right mind actually think that one Disney would let those images become reality, and that two, that the Wii was capable of such things? No one deceived them, they just let their hopes get ahead of what any rational thought would have told them is not going to happen.

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

1080p full hd at 60fps, Yes I want it.

720p at 30fps, I will still take it.

Look we have developers who can do the former respectively well, and we have developers who can do the latter respectively well. Just do what suits your strengths. Is 1080p full hd at 60fps a selling point? Yes it is, but to a niche crowd.

It's not anyone's fault, I don't understand why you are trying to point fingers. It is what happened. It is not a devs fault for making something look amazing, but they should be aware of the effects by now, after countless fanboy rages.
