Has a thread with a title like this ever had a valid point in it?

It's invariably a noob who has taken one look at the numbers, added 1 and 3, come up with 17 and then starts accusing everyone else of not knowing what they are talking about and ingoring all logic until The Source or ioi comes in on page 3 and straightens them the hell out.
