Common sense told us they would when they came out with the 13 million figure. I dont know why... ( I think it was this guy) NJ5 was so stubborn into accepting a 100 dollar price cut. I think he was the one that said they wont cut the price till April. After this loss last quarter I expect profitable numbers here on out. No question about Christmas. Q4 will have GT5 and GoW among other games and I believe 9 months is long enough to lower the cost of the new chips. into at least breaking even on the ps3 for Q1 '10

Common sense told you know such thing so please try not to confuse wisful thinking to eventual reality with it.  Things can happen that you wan to happen but that doesn't make it common sense. 

Yeah,... so tell me... How would Sony have planned to reach 13 million with declining sales and no price drop?

with GOW3, GT5 most probably in Q1 (FF13 is OUT of Q1 for the west..its Q2 now)

Yes I do understand this but once again I'm concerned of how much they are really going to be able to stuff in America or really sell in America.  I expect very strong Europe and Japan sales but I'm not so confident in America yet.  They still have a very strong Microsoft (and Nintendo of course) to compete with.  This doesn't mean they'll do bad in the territory but I'm not yet a full believer that they can get the 13 million without strong sales and of course shipments to that region.  But hey Sony has made a little more of a believer out of me.  Started with only thinking 9-10 million, jumped to 10-11 million, and now in 11-12 million range.  I have no problem with them continuously surprising me.

You realise there are already some on shelves.... so if for this FY they sell 11.4 million, for them to have shipped 13 million there would have to be 1.6 million PLUS whatever there was on shelves back in April 2009.
