Ports are not cheap. There would be MORE of them made if they were (we might have had these ported already, for one thing). Ports are not just putting the game on another system. They are rewriting the game code for another system. That means all the specs have to be adjusted. Having larger specs doesn't change that.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

GTA Chinatown Wars did okay on DS with about 700k units sold. It's not the level of GTA4, but it shows promise.

If Nintendo snagged Rockstar North to make a Wii-exclusive GTA game, it would be quite awesome. Especially with motion controls. For example, beating a hooker with a baseball bat... yup.

I don't think they would control very good with the Wiimote, especially doing stuff like drive-bys in a high speed chase.

I would map the side views to the d-pad, and perhaps even allow free aiming like in Saints Row.

Only if they remade them with technical improvements (removal of pop-up, reduced load times, nicer graphics) and new content, perhaps a few new missions, an extra odd job or two, a bigger soiundtrack. Nothing major, just a few bits and bobs. I would buy it in a heartbeat.
