Bayonetta opens much higher than I ever expected.
Again, I'd like to see the sellthrough, but the two Wii titles seem very low.

Bad for everything except Bayonetta.
Goes to show that not even Tekken can bring japanese back to the fighting genre. This series used to sell 1m+ with each installment in Japan. Namco is sure as hell dissapointed now.
Also goes to show that nobody wants old-school RPGs anymore, both new SMT and 4WoL sell terribly.
tres predicting doom for a Ninty console? well I never
| trestres said: OT: Terrible sales for S&P2, but looks like Nintendo hasn't learned the lesson and keeps on doing stealth releases, |
It was announced 1 years ago. Yeah it's a good game but a niche series it's hard to expect much of that.

It's like a tradition on the site Y'know

I'm not predicting doom for the DS. There's barely any games coming from Nintendo themselves and SE, which is the biggest 3rd party publisher on the console in Japan. I'm getting tired of people acting like defensive kids when I'm sharing backed up thoughts.
What's so wrong with Nintendo coming out with a successor to their console by next year? If they aren't, then why haven't they announced any more games for their own platform? Why has SE stopped announcing games for it too?
Come out with a proper counter arguement or be quiet and stop spamming.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
@alfredo: What has announcing a game have to do with the actual release and media we get? Nintendo announced the game 1 year ago, oh wow. I guess people are so hyped with all the info they have on Cosmic Walker and Dynamic Slash as well. I'm sure they won't bomb in Japan, even if we haven't seen a single piece of media.
But wait, you say that if Nintendo announced that the games are coming out in 2 weeks the hype and anticipation would be so high because they were announced 1 year ago? Try to reason what you have just said, I'm not going to reply to any other silly post from yours unless you do so.

I'm wondering what people'll be hyped for this game. It isn't a major franchise and quite honestly doesn't appeal to a huge number of gamers in Japan, it's great sure but it's a weird mixture between a on-rails shooter and hack and slash game (none of them popular in Japan) and only lasts for 4 or 6 hours; this's the kind of games that you could hype for 3 or 6 months and still get similar numbers.
