Just read the xbox version review on IGN. Basically it runs a lot smoother on the xbox, but the reviewer still gave both versions a 9.2 score.

 9.2 and OPM, which many more people will read gave it 9

My copy is going to be dispatched within the next few days, and I will be enjoying it this weekend 

Who likes massive slowdowns?

I don't know whether reviews matter or not but I would expect that with the price of both the XBox 360 and PS3 they're mostly targeting the more dedicated gamer who is (probably) going to be far more informed about reviews and game quality; the masses will probably still own a PS2 (or may be looking to buy a Wii) and will buy PES2008 for the PS2 ...

Fifa is the bestselling footballgame in Europe... Fact.

The games release on almost all platforms, so don't expect a boost of PS3 software.

What does it matter if its bundled, the people who want it will buy it loose and already own a PS3 or buy it on PC cuzz no way those guys are gonna pay another extra 400$ whilst they can play it on their pc... (Football is mostely played on PC's just to let u Americans know)...

So who cares, it's just like Fifa, a game that comes out every year and WON'T BOOST HARDWARE SALES!

Like Madden for u americans, did Madden boost hardware sales?! Nope... It did good software-wise though, and that's to be expected for this game as well! PS3 was already owned... We all (Except the ignorant fanboys) knew PS3 was gonna get owned this very Christmas by Juli if not earlier...

There is a strong fan base behind the game that simply HATE FIFA that is considered too casual for us. Overall, I m sure the PS2 version will outsell the PS3/Xbox360 version. But I think the bundle is a good deal to get a PS3. Time will tell.

I m french again and typically in france PES is very strong.
Madden maybe not a system seller, If you say, but I m not talking about Madden (another BS from EA)

The 2 main system seller of the PS3/Xbox360 for europe : GTA4 and PES.

PES is huge in Europe. You're looking at a continent which is, for the most part, crazy about football.

I had already seen an interview where the creator of PES2008 said that they realized there were slowdowns in the PS3 version, but I didn't think it would be this bad! I wonder how such things can pass QA...

Isn't one of the big advantages of consoles supposed to be that there are few hardware configurations to do QA and testing for?

Most shoppers aren't educated shoppers, especially around Christmas time. People will still buy it, but there may be some dissapointed consumers if it's really as bad as that review says.
