Yeah...you can make the argument that modchips allow independents to make games and allow for other legal uses...but everyone knows almost everybody uses them to pirate games.

I think the "indie games" argument is just a tiny bit irrelevant, now that WiiWare is launching and creating an easy way for developers to not only have their indie games published, but also to make money off of them.

@ omgwtfbbq: What legitimate, legal uses does a modchip offer someone?

Well if I remember correctly region locking is illegal in Australia.(Yet somehow the Wii still can be region locked) So technically it would be making something illegal, legal.

That makes no sense. If region locking is illegal, then why haven't Nintendo been sued? And why haven't Sony been sued for region-locking the PS2? and so on...

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

I'm sure if they just sent Reggie in there with nothing but his fists, he could tear shit apart. In fact I can see the game; it could be a Wiiware title. A 2d sidescroller in the tradition of Contra, only you're Reggie and your eliminating pirates across the globe. Somebody develop this game, please.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

I just keep gettin ghtis image in my head

*knock knco*
Pirates: whos there

*knock,knock*
Pirates who.who..whos there

*door impoldes and fire balls start flyin*

BOOMIN VOICE:ITS'a ME MARIO BIT@#S

Yes, it's unfair that Europeans and other countries usually pay more for games...but isn't even MORE unfair when you decide to buy a $1 copy of a game? That means WE'RE paying $50 a pop, and you're, in reality, paying much less. And you wonder why the cycle continues.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Someone really just needs to make an emulator for the Wii, people can always just get an IR detector for their PCs.

Hehe good luck with that one...PS2 games are only just now starting to emulate decently...GC games are near impossible.

I had a Melee .ISO and tried emulating...got a glorious 12 FPS! haha.

Give it some years and we'll have emulators for the PS3, 360, and Wii.

Well, maybe the PS3 will take a bit longer.  The bizarre architecture makes development a pain in the @55, so I can only imagine how awful emulation for it will be at first.

I wonder who was the head of the raid?
