He's not very wrong. There is no difference between hdmi cables that are rated for the same category. Is that better? Monster will still charge you $100 for a category 2 cable, while you can get it online for 10 or less.

My $3 HDMI cables have been working fine for 3 years now. There's no difference. Digital cables either go through completely or not at all; there's no gray area.

That is the cable that I bought about a year ago. It looks just fine to me and actually just as good as an expensive one. And also if it were to break or anything it is easily disposable as it only actually cost about $3.

There is still a difference in quality,  Monster may be expensive but they are a much better made cable than any of those cheap ones.   They use better materials and are manufactured to a higher standard.   Look  I'm not saying that he should buy them,  most people wouldnt be able to see the difference.  Hell I dont even own any, if money wasnt an option I would.  But to be completely ignorant and say there is no difference in the quality of the cable is ridiculous.   And at longer differences that quality, or lack of in the case of these cheap cables, become extremely obivious.

It would be no different if he were to say a Kia is of the same build quality as a Mercedes or BMW.   He would have been laughed out of the room.

Yes, please don't take my post as a reason to buy an expensive cable. If you are only going

Hi!

I see there is a ton of pricerange for the HDMI cable, from 10$-50$, is the cheaper ones crap or are they the kinnda the same?

I've read somewhere here before that all HDMI cables are the same quality since the signal its sending is digital, is that true?

I believe it is wrong. Digital cable can also generates errors.. but it is less likely than the rest...

I hate cheap stuffs ( a lot of people glorify cheap stuffs and want everything for free on this forum) but a pricey HDMI cable is not justified in most cases.

A 60 € HDMI cable might be justified if you have a 850€ Blu-Ray player for example... otherwise a 15 € cable will do fine.

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

I've got 5 HDMI cables in my home.

1 for my 360
1 for my PS3
1 for my Cablebox
1 for my Onkyo Receiver who is the only one connected to my HDTV.
1 for my PC monitor

Total price for the cables? 25$ TOTAL ( 5$ each )
The answer:
MONOPRICE

Very good cables, never had a problem, excellent image quality.

Big brand 'superior' HDMI is a hoax.
