It does seem like in much the same way as the DS, the selling point was the new interface, but when it gets down to it, the great games don't really need the interface one way or the other.
Still, this sounds just like a hate parade.

Maybe for some of the mini games but I do not believe throughout the whole game. at least as an option but hmmm I don’t know

I saw that article.
What made it worse is that it's from my school's newspaper. :(
I am finding a bit of irony here when I look at the whinefest regarding Nintendo:
1. There is hatred for motion control.
2. There is hatred of the lack of a bulk of the games being "hardcore".
So, if you go more hardcore, and also take out motion control, you have... oh, let's see... a 360 or PS3? Next up, complaints about Leapster, or whatever it is called, not having enough non-educational games. Here is an idea about the Wii: If you don't like it, stop thinking about it and move on. Of course, if that is true, then the individual who is whining doesn't have anything to whine about and can't get people on forums posting his article, and getting attention for himself.
Are we supposed to get upset over unoriginal rants (and in some cases factually inaccurate ones) in a college newspaper?
Because that is what this is.
Basically, it appears to be someone who feels entitled who thinks that something is being done for someone else and is upset about that.
Shame, shame, shame.

i agree, for the money they have, the improvement have been small, like all the billlions are resting in stock holders and executive bank accounts.
they have ONE game i am hyped about and it's the next zelda.
neither the online, or games have improved. wii sport resort was just repacking, with motion plus, and wii fit plus (I am underweight).
nsmbw shows promise, but it's a world shaking game as innovation, it's old good mario.
yawn, personally I feel that we are seeing the true colours of media journalism. Especially from the gaming side of things. Gaming journalists aren't journalists, editors, writers. They are bloggers. See professionalism requires a semblance of fact writing and at least some form of understanding the reader. Where as controversialists are more about stating opinions that are meant to increase readership.
Considering that blogging seems more akin to controversial. It clearly means that such writing is the same. That these writers don't really know much at all and just like the spot light. How about something cool to be done. Ignore them. The only real importance about gaming is playing. That's what's it's all about.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
I agree with the article and am keeping my fingers crossed for a more hardcore friendly Super Wii to be announced in 2010.
Also, I feel very strongly that many of these longtime Nintendo fans that argue with one all day on message boards that Wii Sports and Wii Fit are the best games in history or that Wii should continue exactly as it is now for virtually forever are only doing so because they have been willing to embrace anything good or bad for gaming that would put Nintendo back on top after the last two console generations.
I agree with the statement made by a Play Magazine USA editor that just because we will most likely have to thank Nintendo for keeping gaming alive 10 years from now, it doesn't mean we have to love everything they are doing today.
