Forums - Gaming - Epic Mickey was ORIGINALLY a 360/PS3/PC Title! (Why did it move to Wii?)!

Good to see developers focusing either completely on Wii or PS3/360 development and taking advantage of the tech available, since you can't realistically develop the same game for all three.

That said, it may get a few more sales because it's Disney, and it may be a phenomenal game, but I don't see it selling well.

It's all about the game.

From the sounds of it, it wasn't just good for the Wii but for the game itself to become an exclusive. Changing from three platforms to just one means they can concentrate more on the actual title.

A unique and specifically-designed experience for the Wii should be well-received and sought after.
I plan to pre-order as soon as I can.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

That's not necessarily true. It's the same flawed logic that PS3 or 360 exclusives are going to be better than multiplatform titles.

On PS3 and 360 that may be true outlaw, but on Wii you have to be exclusive

So Disney is a great company to work for... who knew.

Guess because it's not their main industry they don't think they know everything.

^Disney has gotten better since they brought Pixar on board

I do not understand the reason why you think the game will not sale well? Do you believe that it will lack advertising or it will be a bad game? Please enlighten me.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

Of course, exclusives won't magically end up being better than multiplatforms.

"And it'd be awfully nice if we could focus on one platform."

That quote can probably be interpreted in numerous ways, but to me it sounds like developing the title for three platforms stole focus from the actual game, and the quality might have taken a hit from that. I'm not saying it would've ended that way but it's a possibility, especially if they don't have enough manpower.

Yeah i'm so surprised! but it makes perfect sense to do it on the Wii, for many reasons, saleswise and gameplay wise. Hopefully this really does well!
