MH is a HUUUUGE franchise, its not biggie if it sells over 1 million on wii, in fact anything below would be terrible

For anyone who thinks that having different developers use the same assets can produce good results -- see Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. Compare the version on the "inferior" PS2 with those done by another developer for the Xbox and GC. Tell me which one is better.

Actually it made be still Red Steel(the original) Ubisoft made a statement this year that it most expensive game made by a third Party on the wii so it either Red Steel or MH3. For Comparison Nintendo most expensive game so far for the wii is Mario Galaxy....said by Miyamoto himself... around ~ 18 million if I remember correctly

Wait a moment. So the argument now is that the Wii has had no big third party exclusives, and therefor this was a good decision for Disney?

Dragon Quest games are are high budget games.  They just focus their money on other things besides on tons of FMV cutscenes and paying lots of voice actors.  But don't confuse the production values of a Final Fantasy or MGS title with a game having a mediocre budget.  If you ever played Dragon Quest VIII, it was clearly one of the most detailed and polished games on the PS2.  And they didn't slouch on its budget, spending over 4 years on its development and definitely hitting the 'high' cost range.

Dragon Quest IX in comparison is a DS game that took 5 years to develop (pretty much unheard of for a DS or handheld game) and is just as massive as DQVIII.

This true but we don't know was how Mh3 developed I completely doubt it was made with own unigue engine  but I know for sure that RED Steel was.... but I don't have know way prove that either or more expensive than each other...
