I do believe you're in the minority. I played both, imo X-2 sucked donkey balls!

OT: Edge's scoring system is one of the most bizzare scoring systems of any publication. The articles they have are actually quite good, but the scores they give are just odd. Basically, I ignore Edge's scores and look at other review scores to get a better idea of a game. Even if Edge give a game a good score I'll try before I buy.

seeing as not a single person on this board has actually played a finished version NSMB Wii and has no idea how good the game is...can I ask why some of you are complaining about edge giving it 7/10????

I felt X took itself way too seriously and I didn't really like any of the characters. But still, I can see why other people would like it more.

As for Edge's scoring... I've always felt that they've at least been able to give an accptable reason why they score as they do - and after all, there are no set rules for how a magazine should do this. I've bought lots of games that have been given 6s or 7s there, enjoyed them, and still been able to see their flaws.

I certainly don't see why anyone has a good reason to really complain. At least not until they've seen the full review AND played the game.

Were you complaining about Super Mario Bros 2, which was so close to Super Mario Bros 3, in fact almost the same?

I LOVED the DS version, so a game with even TONS of new features like that will be mine, of course.

Why do Nintendo has to change the graphics? And HELL, they changed it! Look at those doted mountains behind, they are awesome! Clouds! Look at how Goombas are! If you doubt about the game, just rent it. Nintendo said it: You have to play the game to see how details has been improved. Graphics in Mario Bros 2 and 3 were almost the same, and in this version, they aren't the same than in the DS one. Stop complaining on that and play for fun, just like in old days!

And, for those you think it will not be a long game, the guy who said it was about 6 hours said with 4 players, it was about 15 hours without collecting Coins.

So, the game will have a great replay value and will last about 20 hours + Toad rescue + Coin Battle + Free For All

Remember that Uncharted lasted 10 hours maximum.

IMO, Super Mario World wasn't as promising as this one.

I completely agree with the last sentence of your post, I'm simply trying to explain to people to not put too much importance to the scores Edge give.

The thing with Edge's scoring is I've played games that they've scored 9 or 10 and felt that according to Edge's own scoring system they deserve no more than a 7 as I can pick up the glaring errors in the game that they barely pick up on. I can quite happily buy games that score only 6 or 7 and enjoy them and accept them getting that score, but they don't always apply the harsh scoring system to all releases. That's why I find the scoring system to be a bit bizzare. A 7 from Edge isn't actually a bad score as such, I find its the games that score higher that I have to be wary of, lol.

Depends on what poll you're talking about.  In one poll, Japan will say Dragon Quest III is the best game of all time.  In the next, they'll say something like Idolmater is.

I could probably find a poll that says WiiFit is the best game ever if I look hard enough.
