Why would any ps3 owner care?. Both are on the PS3, buy your personal favourite or both. Only xbox owners can get butt hurt over this issue. I suspect there'l be an Infamous, prototype effect again where xbox fanboys are ridiculously arguing a multi-plat title is better than a PS3 exclusive.
God Of War was the first Hack N Slash game? No... How about Halo 3, was it the first FPS?... Ok, how about Gran Turismo? Was it the first racing sim?...No? Oh wow, look at that...
Different games share the same genre, wow...who would've thought?! Each game can stand on it's own, and while God Of War has made it's mark as one of the best Hack N Slash/Action Adventure games, that doesn't mean another game cannot compete.
You all wonder why developers churn out sequels upon sequels, and new IP's are hard to come by, because people like you all discourage anything that SLIGHTY resembles an exclusive title, i bet that if this was a PS3 exclusive, no one would care for shit. Just like Heavenly Sword. What about Quantom Theory the so called, "Gears Of War clone"? No problems with that right? Why? Because it's different, and only shares the cover mechanic. There's so much more examples, and Dante's Inferno is no different, let it be it's own game for goodness sake.
I'm taking a wait and see approach with this game. Rip-offs aren't as good as the original games they're copying, historically, but anything can happen. I'll wait for reviews.
Hopefully God of War III manages to keep the high quality of the first 3, while bringing some new stuff. That should be enough to kick Dante's Inferno in the nuts. If reviews, however, agree that Dante's Inferno is a bit more than a God of War play-alike, I will have to think about buying it or not. I'm also very much interested in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, but I would saturate of too many hack-n-slash games.

its not about it being the same genre, its about Dante's inferno being the exact same thing as God Of War.
Everything about it reminds me of GoW , the button layout , the camera movement , the character movement , the animations , the enemy movement the gore, the weapons ....everything.
now tell me, isn't that the same exact game?
Edit:
i'd like to point out that Hack and Slash games can be different.

Except Sony. I think Sony has more new ip's than the rest of the industry put together.

BS, Dante is more a rip off that so so so many others games.
the move are the same, the camera is similar, the same button give the same attack type, the health/magic bar is the same, there are box to open to get back there are box to get some life, there are soul to get from the defeated foe, and it is a lonely guy fighting gods ...
it is not about does it suck or not, it is not about is it an hacknslash or not,
it is more about : it is a total rip-off and their are proud of it.
