It's an opinion question, but yes.

How? I'm pretty sure every Mario game has been a high quality experience.

Mario is missing and all the other bad Mario games weren't developed by Nintendo.
plus that game was an educational game released for PC/Mac and it was only ported to their consoles later.
About OP,
hmmm 23 posts and speaks for Nintendo fans in a negative way. Can you say doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.
Anyways yes. This era they are shifting the movement of gaming to be universal.

I would have agreed with you in the GameCube era. But now with the Wii I no longer have such faith that Nintendo really cares about games more then money. In the past good games sold high numbers of units. Even on the GameCube Nintendo's big franchises still raked in millions. Infact GameCube was just as profitable or probubly more so then Microsoft and many would argue even Sony.
But this generation what sells (WiiFit/WiiMusic/WiiPlay/WiiSports). These tech demo's made millions and millions. So cheap to develope and so much profit in return. So in my opinion Nintendo got greedy. I mean honestly did we need WiiFitPlus? only 6-new excersizes. Was Nintendo really trying to give us the best quality game with WiiFitPlus. Or how about WiiPlay? Was Nintendo really trying to give us a AAA+ game or were they simply trying to sell us another Wiimote? With WiiSportsResort was Nintendo really trying to give us another high quality title or were they simply trying to push people to pick up WiiMotionPlus so that Nintendo could make more money with future titles?
Nintendo sold out, lets face it. Its no longer about the next great StarFox/DonkeyKong game instead its about making profit by producing games with low overhead and selling them for huge profits!
Who can honestly defend WiiFitPlus? Honestly I bought WiiFit last year and WiiFitPlus just looks like another money grab!

Hell yes it does. I love all my DS and Wii games that have the little red Nintendo logo on the bottom right (or left, can't remember) corner of the game case. They've given me a sense of fun and accomplishment in an otherwise boring and typical childhood.
Blabla core blabla hardcore blabla fanboys blabla
Nintendo released as many "core games" for the Wii as for any other console before, on top of that new games like wii sports, wii music, wii fit etc.
I think that game-wise, this generation is the weakest, despite the fact that after 2 generations Nintendo is back on top again. I'm disappointed with the Wii game offering from the mighty N, 3 AAA titles since launch, no new Zelda, and no old IP entry. NSMBWii, Zelda Wii and Metroid Other M have my hope, but we won't see them sooner than year from now.
But Nintendo got my thumbs up for DS, it is the greatest handheld with the greatest game library ever. I only wish it could play Metal Gear games :)
