Wow talk about hating on Resistance. There's only been 2 of them and they will make a third. I would say I hope the third game finishes the story off though. 

Some people have taken Amy Hennig's quote out of context to conveniently mean "stick a fork in it, the PS3 is maxed out for the generation" when it really just means their programming team successfully offloaded graphical overhead to all available SPEs for Uncharted 2, hence using all the CBE's internal resources as would be the case for any developer who chooses to write code fully optimized for the PS3.

Does that mean they are physically incapable of improving what they can do with the hardware? Does a PC app maximized for quad core performance mean that it is physically incapable of being improved in future versions on the same quad core system hardware configuration? Of course not.

What it does mean is that any developer who chooses to write code fully optimized for the PS3 to take advantage of the hardware now has a new watermark to shoot for thanks to Naughty Dog.

actually what i remember ND's dev saying was he maxed out the disc, the whole 25gb bluray. i dont remember a quote talking about the processing power

Don't get me wrong Mr. Chairman. I liked both Resistance games and I actually managed to beat both. R2 was a huge improvement on the first game. But when you compare it to other top FPS' like Killzone 2 it is nowhere near. I'd just rather see a studio like Insomniac work on other projects similar to Ratchet. Or start a completely different franchise kinda like Naughty Dog does at the beginning of every generation lol.

Running is useless, the abomination you just uttered has tainted your aura. Cats will hiss at you, babies will cry and cell phones will ring their worst downloaded jingle at your passage.

I think both HD consoles including PS3 are practically maxed out. Maybe rufly a 10-15% increase in graphics performance is expected in the remainder of the gen.
