You got a point there, this new Zelda will probably have tons of new items, and your boss/animal taming idea is genius im sure i would love that
I think Malstrom have been a bit odd lately, he is starting to sound more like he hated Nintendo, i know it was a bit weird for someone as Iwata to say something like that, im sure we would get better answers from Miyamoto... anyway.. my thoughts on both the article and the new Zelda
Yes, Malstrom is right, that is "one" of the many concepts behind Zelda, but seriously, triying new items? thats all? many games has items and dungeons too, what makes Zelda good is the huge enviroment, the great experience it involves, its a game that actually makes you feel heroic
The dungeons are boring? and are just grinding and pointleess, the fun is coming out of the dungeon and seeing THE LIGHT. I love Zelda dungeons for exactly the same reason, thats the feeling i get on certain Pokemon/Final Fantasy dugeons, the reward of reaching the next city is priceless, but on Zelda the fun is solving all the puzzles in the cave and exploring it completely, beating a seemingly impossible giant boss and yes maybe getting a new item too
I think Zelda is to videogames, like The Lord of the Rings to books, and that is a clever inmersive experience, not because it has great history, great characters and many other things (which both have) but because it was designed to make it feel that way, Miyamoto wanted us to explore Hyrule, as Tolkien wanted with the Middle Earth
What i want in the next Zelda?
A huge change in the franchise, i want it to go back to their roots, or a completely new idea, either way i expect something greater than Great, i want to explore Hyrule in a new way, i want the game to get harder too and a bunch of new items fgs!!! >o
Nintendo is the best videogames company ever!
