Forums - Nintendo - Why Zelda Wii will be the best ever! (Malstrom inspired)

You got a point there, this new Zelda will probably have tons of new items, and your boss/animal taming idea is genius im sure i would love that

I think Malstrom have been a bit odd lately, he is starting to sound more like he hated Nintendo, i know it was a bit weird for someone as Iwata to say something like that, im sure we would get better answers from Miyamoto... anyway.. my thoughts on both the article and the new Zelda

Yes, Malstrom is right, that is "one" of the many concepts behind Zelda, but seriously, triying new items? thats all? many games has items and dungeons too, what makes Zelda good is the huge enviroment, the great experience it involves, its a game that actually makes you feel heroic

The dungeons are boring? and are just grinding and pointleess, the fun is coming out of the dungeon and seeing THE LIGHT. I love Zelda dungeons for exactly the same reason, thats the feeling i get on certain Pokemon/Final Fantasy dugeons, the reward of reaching the next city is priceless, but on Zelda the fun is solving all the puzzles in the cave and exploring it completely, beating a seemingly impossible giant boss and yes maybe getting a new item too

I think Zelda is to videogames, like The Lord of the Rings to books, and that is a clever inmersive experience, not because it has great history, great characters and many other things (which both have) but because it was designed to make it feel that way, Miyamoto wanted us to explore Hyrule, as Tolkien wanted with the Middle Earth

What i want in the next Zelda?

A huge change in the franchise, i want it to go back to their roots, or a completely new idea, either way i expect something greater than Great, i want to explore Hyrule in a new way, i want the game to get harder too and a bunch of new items fgs!!! >o

Nintendo is the best videogames company ever!

Haar crits Pit in the first round and you know it

Pit has range and shielding.  Both Jill and Haar would need a legendary weapon to pierce Pit.

Or just some spikes

FYI:

As a Pit player I may be biased but...

Pit has

Controlable arrows that he can send multiples of out.

The ability to fly, jump then fly again.

The ability to reflect while attacking you then push you away if he wiffs.

The ability to reflect your attack send it back 2x faster with 2x more damage and knock back.

The ability to fly -> jump -> glide -> fly.

The ability to spike you with a dagger, D=

Rapid speed attacks that eat through projectiles, even samus' charge shot.

The ability to pwn period. If you don't get it.

Pit has a great long range game, superb mid range game an excellent mind game, a great trapper and an amazing close range  game.

He has the strongest offense and the strongest offense makes the best defence.

He has the ultimate defence and the most effective defence beats any offence.

Haar uses Stun and gets like 82 damage, then htis him again because he is also hella fast

hold on let me illustrate...

Actually

Do you play Fire Emblem

I don't think Malestrom's definition is wrong, necessarily, but I don't feel it encompasses the true Zelda experience either. Malstrom speaks of the dichotomy between overworld and dungeons, but as many people have pointed out that is a line that has long been blurred. Even the original Zelda did not limit it's available "upgrades" to the dungeons, and the movement towards more integrated dungeons would serve to further break down that distinction. I think that is the proper way to move the series forward, by the way.

Anyway, Miyamoto once said the essence of Zelda is a child's desire to explore the world. I think that should be taken more fully into consideration by the design team. I can imagine a world where the player can truly explore what he wishes, in what order he wishes. Start of easy, with only three dungeons, and expand it from there. Perhaps they could also make use of a dynamic storyline where events of one "dungeon-arch" affect those of the others.

Making non-projectile items more useable in combat would also be a plus (think of the Hammer in ALttP). That, of course, would likely be addressed in Zelda Wii, as pointed out by the OP.

More than anything, though, I want Aonuma and the Zelda team to do whatever it is they wish. Don't listen to fans (certainly not me)! Twilight Princess was so hampered by fans' requests that in many ways it felt like a step backwards... Please don't make the same mistake again.

Yep, yep... let's look at it this way.

Pit>Marth
Pit>> Ike!
Pit>>>>>>>>>>>Roy

Lyndis is cool though I'd have preffered her over Marth and they should of kept Roy and included Ike...

The part where Haar wears a helmet like the Witch King, apparently

What your saying makes as much sense as saying the first red ranger was better than the first green ranger even though the green ranger had his own theme song and could fight mobs without his zord.

Son the T-Rex was the best I will hear no such blasphemy to the contrary.
