The secrecy is getting ridiculous at times. This game releases in less than 2 weeks and we just find out it exists.

I think Nintendo relies too much on their core fans that they think advertising and hyping is not needed. But then again, they are shrinking the potential market of the core games instead, by only showing the game to a select few, kind of what happened with excitebots, to give you the most recent example. Nintendo needs to expand their traditional IPs to everyone, not just keep them secretly to their core fans.

Well in all honesty, WiiWare titles are not something that gets marketing or hype.  The vast majority of them are first known about a week before they are released or when they finally get released.

Only a select few get hyped, like Mega Man 9 or World of Goo.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

WiiWare is rather different, since WiiWare is a better place for "pandering to your base," as it were. In this case, you don't need that much more than the "core," and requisite word of mouth.

Though the consistent sales of that Aquarium sim suggest that there has to be some solid Expanded Audience on there.

On topic: This really does fulfill everything that IGN guy pointed at. We didn't ask for this, it isn't "zomg," but it is neat. Not for me, though. I've never really been into the excite franchise.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I actually sorta like not knowing in this case.

Game is revealed and you're playing it a month later ... good stuff. Game looks really cool, really like the elegant/clean look of the graphics that are 3D but still very retro.

Donkey Kong Arcade remake next please.

so, if i liked excite truck and excite bots, but never played excite bike on the nes, would i probably like this? it does look similar in concept (getting big air and doing tricks and stuff) and it looks like theres different grades you can get for each track, correct?

some games on the service that are overpriced, yes, but the funny thing is that the 1500 point games (my life as a king and world of goo.) are more than worth it.

Imo, with online and track editor, the game would be worth atleast 1000 points. Unless the gameplay sucks of course.

This is pretty cool news.

Too much bitchin' and moaning in here... by the usual suspects.
