I can tell you that Netflix streaming was easily the main reason I was going to get a Gold account so I'm very happy because Sony just saved me $50 per year.

I had Live Gold before netflix, and I'll have it far after.

Netflix is so last gen - Instant 1080p streaming is the new thing today. You are outdated.

Just kidding. Xbox Live is still the greatest experience I ever had on a console. Twitter / Last.FM / facebook won't change that.

I really want to say something here:

When this Bluray-rumour came up a few days ago, there were thousands of people saying "MS has to eat crow" etc etc. Now Sony keeps on supporting digital distribution and people are saying "great thing, they offer something new on the PS3." I do not get it. A mean person could say Sony is now really pushing BluRays biggest enemy.

I am glad that the PS3 pushes Video on Demand. First that is the "format" I want to have in the future. Second that makes MS to push Xbox Live even more. In 2008 they had the NXE with avatars and Netflix, in 2009 they have Zune videostore, Twitter, facebook and Last.FM. So what is coming in 2010? Maybe something like a video gamercard with Natal? who knows, but I am happy that MS has to make Xbox Live better and better.

Why pay xbox live for these features while I could have the same features on psn for free?

I certaintly wont be using Netflix, i dont rate it that highly and doubt many people will bother to use it.

to have netflix on live you have to pay charge just to access it. on psn its free.

netflix isnt something i would subscribe to, but its great news for ps3 owners in NA.

they now have movie downloads, netflix and or course the best experiance with bluray hi def

it is odd though that you will have to use a streaming disc inserted into the ps3, mabey it gives better features.
