Misleading article. They are using current 360 shipment numbers and comparing them to 3-4 month old PS3 and Wii shipment numbers (PS3 had 23.8 million shipments at end of june). Difference is definitely not as big as article says. MS only knows 360 shipment figures exactly, they don't know how many of them have been sold to consumers so these numbers are sold to retailers.
"upabout 3 million from August" - In Never-land maybe.
This is clearly shipped as MS prepares for the Holidays, by shipping large quantities of consoles to the shops.

Read the article properly and you'll see that the figure is from late August..

They always say sold. It is always shipped. Always. No, this time is not any different. Yes, I see that one sentence that makes you think it is. No they don't have access to anything but shipped data except through NPD and similar tracking firms. They aren't citing the numbers so it is shipped. Yes I am absolutely sure they are shipped.
I typed out my side of this conversation early. I am missing the part where ioi and/or TheSource come in and confirm they are shipped and I thank them. I decided to save some of it for later.
