Alot of people still foolishly believe the 360 is as powerful as the PS3, this is the only way to educate them. |
I don't think anyone seriously believes that. It's obvious looking at the technical specs that the PS3 is more powerful. The argument is whether the PS3 has more power that is applicable to creating games than the Xbox360, of which the answer is "who knows?".
The Cell is a very special processor that is not as capable in many fields as the Xenon (or Xenos?) in the 360. Whether this power can be tapped for many required feilds of gaming (AI, Physics, etc) remains to be seen.
It's also pretty well documented that the Xbox360's GPU is more advanced than the PS3's, so theoretically it should be able to produce more pretty, but of course this is offset by the Cell's vector units which should be able to perform many GPU tasks quite well.
So taking this black and white "PS3 is more powerful than Xbox360" view is just stupid. It may be able to perform more teraflops but that just means it can perform more teraflops. This means nothing for how good it is as a gaming machine, which ultimately is the most important thing.
Also, it's "a lot". 2 words. Just thought I'd clear that up.
