This is not about console wars. I don't give a shit if someo f the things that people say offends you. Their opinions are not your concern in the confines of this topic. If you want to argue that, go into some topic where it's considered the norm. Or make your own.

This is a topic wherein you explain your own tastes. That's all.

My bad, Ill get back on topic.

For me it's a tie between the PS3 and Wii. PS3's current library is really appealing to me. However the strength of the Wii's virtual console library is extremely strong so Im on the fence

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

What is the point of having a discussion about which console has the best games if you can't converse about it with other people?

Also, did you not expect people to tell somebody why they are wrong and why another system has the best games?

Try reading the topic. It's managed to stay above this particular brand of crap for over 200 posts.

And yes, exactly, I do expect everyone not to attack each other's opinions. Talking about them is one thing: I've been asking people to expand on their reasons the whole time. That is not what's going on here. This is not a topic for list wars or for prick-waving and shouting across the aisles. Take that somewhere else.

Edit: CGI I swear to God

Your point can be summed up in 'My list is better than yours because I like it better, and your opinion is wrong'.

Not quite.

The fact is that the Wii has by far the most games available for it. Not only that, but they are good games.

Also, isn't this whole thread based on opinion anyway?

In my opinion the ps3 has better games. One ps3 game is enough to beat every 360 game: Metal Gear Solid 4. But i want to add Motorstorm Pacific Rift, Infamous, Valkyria Chronicles, Uncharted 2,... Games which are coming 2010 or later like God of War 3, Yakuza 3, White Knight Chronicles, Last Guardian, Gran Turismo 5... Of coure 360 has excellent games too like dead rising, lost odyssey, etc but most of the 360 best games are american orientated shooting games were you don't need to think and shoot everything you see. i don't say that games like halo or gow are bad but like i said only i-kill-everything-without-thinking shooters...

PS3 is FUTURE!

It might be my imagination but there are guns in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots right? Or did they just put that in the title to trick people? So don't say shooter games are mindless. Yes 360 does have more shooters and it does them better. If you are an FPS fan the 360 is the no brainer choice but I would  argue FPS's take the most strategy of all games. Play a professional gamer in a FPS and let me know how much of a gap there is in skill level. I should know I played Quake III on a pro level.

I could make an argument that for each PS3 game there is a counterpart on the 360 that is done just as well. Each console does have its few select games but as a whole PS3 and 360 are very close. It just comes down to personal preference on a few games and some other factors. Controller and online service make the 360 better in my opinion.

Funny thing is, that's not true. What's the counterpart for LBP? What's the counter for Uncharted? What's the counter for Metal Gear Solid 4? What's the counter for Valkyria Chronicles? Where's the counter for MLB: The Show?

I'm not saying, in absolute, that PS3's library > 360's. But to say there is a counter for every PS3 exclusive is outlandish, as this is NOT the case.

If you would have kept reading I said each system has its select few games. I didn't say it has a counterpart for each and every game.  I would argue Splinter Cell is a good counter for Metal Gear Solid. Never played Valkyria Chronicles and as far as MLB is concerned its a baseball game. Who cares if there is a counterpart, baseball sucks. There are plenty of baseball games on the 360.

You're right, but see Splinter Cell is also on the PS3 :P and so is MGS4 but it's not on the 360.

splinter cell conviction is a 360 exclusive, but that doesn't matter. Splinter Cell was never a concurrent for MGS.

And MGS4 isn't really a shooter, at least you need your brain, you cannot shoot everything you see and you have to think about the next move or you won't finish the game, that's the difference.

Maybe the Marketplace on 360 is better but for online gaming it is the same, that's the most important i think, and it's free!

Favourite Games:

PS: Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy VII. PS2: Resident Evil 4, Shadow Hearts Covenant, Final Fantasy X, Silent Hill 4, Soul Calibur III. PS3: Metal Gear Solid 4, Heavy Rain, Valkyria Chronicles, Uncharted 2, Mototstorm PR, God of War III, Modern Warfare 2. Xbox: Suteki, Fatal Frame II DC, Jade Empire. 360: Dead Rising, Lost Odyssey, Dead or Alive 4.

CGI, going intentionally off-topic is bad. In point of fact it's bad enough to be reported and earn moderator action. Take it somewhere else or I'll report you for intentionally going off-topic, using your last couple of posts as the showpieces.

I think it's fair to say that you probably lean more toward the PS3's library than the Wii's, though I find it interesting that you think of the VC as being such a big factor.

Anyway, what games in particular appeal to you? What qualities do they have that make you hold them up?

ACTUALLY, the funny thing is that YOURE BOTH WRONG.

There are NO games that you can name that can compete with the list I just created.

Err... what?

If I'm wrong, where are the games that counter the ones I mentioned? That was my point to begin with...

Super Mario World, Mario 1 2 3, 64, galaxy>LBP

MLB the show< Mario Super Sluggers

Uncharted< Slew of Zeldas that the Wii offers

MGS4<...? Well, I guess I can't really think of one for now. =[

Of course it is just opinion (it is sad that I actually have to mention that or else somebody is going to get butthurt), but I feel as if it is a fair assessment. Of course, it depends on what kind of Baseball you like, but Mario Super Sluggers is like... the shit. You should check that game out if you haven't already.

I will stick to topic rules so therefore:

What is it that makes the Halo story so appealing to you?

Also, speaking about the downloadable services.

I own more games on PSN over XBLA due to the type of games that are popular on each service. The one problem with VC is that I struggle to choose to spend that dollars for something that is easily obtainable (for free) rather than something that I can not get anywhere else.

As bad as that sounds, it's tough for me to spend $8 on Secret of Mana knowing that I could spend that $8 to something new.

Another note on XBLA, the Indie Games were a fantastic addition. I absolutely love I MAD3 A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB13S 1N 1T! or however you spell it.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Honest opinion Halo is a story that has been done before but what makes Halo special is how well the story is done in this game. I actually think if a Halo movie was made correctly it could be on a Star Wars level. But we all know video game movies don't work out.
