Alan Wake is one of the boss games next year. It's a strong contender for GOTY 2010 and has a good shot at selling over 3 million copies.

Are you sure about that? I believe the game to be great, that's nobrainer. But the gamestyle psychological horror isn't exactly mainstream... (I'm shitting myself over RE4 so go figure)

No, I'm not sure. But remember that Bioshock sold 2.5 mill and Resi always sold well, Resi 5 already 2.5 mill on X360.

Bioshock nor Resident Evil 5 are psychological horror games. They are more mainstream in this regard.

I agree with you that Alan Wake has a shot @ 3 million, but not for the reason you speculate...

I think 'horror' is too strong of a word for Alan Wake, but I agree that Bioshock and Resi are a lil bit more mainstream.

Anyway, for what reason u think AW has a chance at 3 mill?

I believe it will be a benchmark in horror games this gen. I think Microsoft will heavily advertise it and the American/European Markets will gobble it up. Although it's the same genre as HEAVY RAIN, it excercises a far simpler gameplay mechanic, and thus could very well attract that many users.

I see what you did there...subconcious Heavy Rain pun? lol jk

it's def horror... a diffrent kind... and it looks well executed and the writer is really excited... so I have high hopes for this bad boy

I am pretty sure there won't be a PC version at all (not even a late one). Microsoft Game Studios are almost Xbox 360 only, maybe except some later Zune HD games.

Check

  • Halo 3
  • Fable II
  • Gears of War 2

All predecessors made it to the PC, but MS changed that and none of the new games saw a PC release. I highly doubt Alan Wake will be different.

@ topic I will get Alan Wake as soon as my store of choice let me do so. I prefer to support smaller stores more than the big ones like Media Markt / Saturn or whatever.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Since the official topic is pretty much uh.. Somewhere I don't see it.. lol, I'll post this here:

Don't close it if you don't speak spanish. They tell the story in both spanish and english. And I gotta say..

OMGWTF the lighting is AMAZING O_O Too bad video quality is pretty low.. And is it me, or does it actually look better than the E3 footage?

I plan on purchasing this! (Doubt I'll pre-order though, I rarely do that). I hope it comes out later in the year though...too many titles coming out in Winter/Spring....

Nice shot, but no buy for me. That time is busy, and I hate anything remotely scary
