Over 194k people have signed the petition!!! WE WILL REACH 200 THOUSAND REALLY SOON!!!

Fight the good fight, Sign the petition: http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?dedis4mw

You think Activision really gives 2 shits about the little petition... Over 4.5M preorders, they will be wiping tears that are shed by PC fans with 100 dollar bills.

Why wouldn't they care?

Do you really think that, as a company, once they sell so-many-million games, they don't care about hundreds of thousands or millions more in  lost sales?

Like I said, they have 4.5M Pre-orders, and will likely do 6-7M week one on consoles alone. Activision knows that 50% of those people who signed the petition will end up getting the game anyways, you watch, half of the people signing are just trying to see if they can get the numbers high if Activision will respond.

I bet you half of them will still buy the game.

Why would they? For the 6 hour single player campaign, or the gimped multiplayer? It's just not that good, you know and there are plenty of other games out there far more worthy of my money.

I personally think this will cost them millions in sales down the road.  COD4 was a top seller on Steam for well over a year (at full price, too), and MW2 isn't even top 5 pre-order the week of its release.

Even if it does sell well at launch, I don't think it will continue that momentum that COD4 had, which was mostly due to its multiplayer (single-player games like Bioshock drop in price and sales like a rock that far after release).

Screwing over your fans is never a smart long-term business proposition.  This will hurt them on MW2 sales, and on future COD sales.

Gimped multiplayer? Well.. this whole IWNET thing, has anyone actually tried it? Or are you all complaining about it before the game is out?

Call of Duty is like the most played multiplayer game on consoles, between PS3 and Xbox 360. We have been playing on P2P for years. We're doing fine, what makes you so much more special that you get an upgrade above the consoles? It's about time there is some balance. The only thing better is on PC it's easier to move shoot and aim, better than controllers.

What other FPS will be the FPS of the holiday season? Please tell me, make it a new game, not a released game, the only good FPS thats worth my money from now until March is Battlefield Bad Company 2.

It's just P2P, big whoop. Again, we have been playing on consoles like this for years, we aren't complaining.

PC gamers should totally boycott the PC version of the game and get the console versions.

Well, if I've been driving a Corvette for years and you show up in a Civic and say its fast and handles great, and you aren't complaining, that doesn't mean I should trade in the Vette

Anyway, this is most certainly gimped for competitive gaming.  Without competition mods and dedicated servers, there will be no even playing field on which to compete.  There will be absolutely no community for that.

For the average user, dedicated servers themselves are not THAT big a deal, but the fact that you're limited to 9v9 players (which is related to P2P) is a pretty big deal.  Big games are fun sometimes, and you're not going to have any of that.

Oh, and one last thing... there's a reason every single PC game that lets you select your server has a "favorites" section.  People like to have the option to play on particular servers.  Its part of what makes the community, and it will be lacking.

You really should be, you're being short changed. And (yet) again, if we wanted this sort of inferior gaming experience we'd be getting it for a console.
