Forums - Sony - Namco thanks Japanese 360 Tales of Vesperia owners for being beta trialists

Wow i think Namco needs to stfu or release all this new content for the 360 version as DLC. but theyre too busy being terrible software vendors to notice that they are alienating their customers... I think i speak for collective 360 owners of this game when i say FUCK you!

Long Live SHIO!

The more I think about this I less I care.

Seriously, by the time it reachs North American shores for the PS3 it will be a year and a half later or possibly more, two years if It's released in the summer?

The 360 owners got one of the best RPGs of this gen years early, and the PS3 will get extras since they had to wait as long.

It's a good time to be a PS3 owner.

My only wish is they would make the extras DLC for the 360 even if it costs something, that way all sides could be even.

Magna Carta 2 for PS3 is confirmed by just watching what Namco just did.

It's just that simple.

besides, didn't ToV do terribad anyways? would prolly sell better with this new version in Japan and worldwide anyways. If they hardly made any profit, then it was pretty much a beta test if you follow that pattern. I knew I made the right decision when I sold my 360 and games 2 months ago lol.

I think that they could have made the new char and some of the extra the PS3 have to make a DLC for the 360 version but it seems that they can't because the new character is a complete change to the game...

LOL that is so wrong.

well, I'd rather have played the game when it originally came out. I'm sure the additions aren't huge anyway.

Last time I checked Tales of Vesperia, Magna Carta 2 (Which I don't think will stay exclusive for long after the PS3 momentum picks up) Tekken 6, and Soul Calibur IV were all great games. Then we've got Dead to Rights, Eternal Sonata and Naruto: Ninja Storm coming. They are one of the top publishers. They've just made it abundantly clear that a person who paid well out of pocket to buy a 360 needs to pay more out of pocket to buy a PS3 in getting a decent Japanese made title. It's fucked up, but I am glad I have both systems in the end. It's so fucked up though, especially when Sony paid nothing and Microsoft did.

@STAGE

what will you do then

Do you really think not putting extra content was viable, the game wouldn't have sold as much in Japan

it WENT to 360 because of you know what

Now its on PS3, I demand it have extra content for making us wait an extra year

Thats just the point. Most people thought these games like TOV, Star Ocean 4 and Ninja Gaiden 2 were Xbox 360 exclusives. Microsoft basically funded these companies final product and saw a half assed return. It doesn't matter what Sony wants, they will get it if the conditions are correct and I see no shame in Sony making those decisions. I am not blaming Sony, but my gripe is with the devs for not adding extra patches and DLC to the 360 games for added effect and replay value as opposed to the PS3 versions, because at least 360 owners would've had their moneys worth. If you think about that way it should make at least some sense. I knew it would come down to this and thats why I bought the PS3. I am happy that this could spell a boost to Japans gaming realm after FFXIII launches, but it just shows a sad direction we're headed in between the east and west and negative influence in the gaming industry world wide.

What about people that bought 360s for games like this assuming they were actually exclusive?

Both sides got screwed here. In the end, it was Namco playing whore to Microsoft's pocket book that screwed people over. The game should've been multiplat from the get go.

The most diplomatic post I've seen yet. QFT

I doubt atleast people in Japan are gonna fall in the "360 JRPG's" trap again

as SO4 & TOV are on PS3 now, with heavy rumors of TLR coming

What 360 trap? What is wrong with you? It's a god damned system and I feel horrible for those who got screwed in Japan because the majority are biased to an American made system. Hopefully they have PS3's as well as their 360's. I also hope they enjoy their western titles which are popular in the west and niche titles in Japan. I feel the same way, because I have to now split my 360 and PS3 collection the same way between western devs and eastern devs. I can totally relate with them. Psh.......360 trap my ass.
