Naughty Dog includes feature for just one player

Uncharted 2

Naughty Dog has even included control customisation in Uncharted 2 for just one player.

Naughty Dog's latest PlayStation 3 game, has been hailed as one of the best presented and polished video games of all time, with almost thirty perfect review scores listed on Metacritic.

It looks like the developer's fan service has gone even further than just creating a great game. They've included a very specific control customisation for a very small amount of people.

Reddit user thecheatah writes that he struggles to aim in console video games when the aiming is on the left joystick. This is not because of some physical disability, but a simple mental propensity.

"When the first Uncharted came out, I could not play it because I could not aim. I checked the control options and I could not swap the joysticks. So I sent Naughty Dog an e-mail describing my situation. They replied back saying that they could not do anything for Uncharted, but they would consider my suggestion to add the ability to swap joysticks in their next release," thecheatah writes.

Come the release of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, the option to swap joysticks is included:

"Because of there consideration I was able to enjoy there master piece," he concludes.

Sure, it might have been a simple addition, but not many developers would add a feature because just one player was stuck in the dark ages. That's fan service.

Don't a lot of games have this feature?

Good job I guess.

wow, that's a great little story. but in all honesty, i don't know why more games don't let you remap the controller any way one wants. i mean really, i remember NES games that allowed you to remake the button layout any way you wanted....

This should be in the official thread...

i've seen a lot of games that allow you to invert the x/y axis but not swap the left/right analog sticks.  most games only have 1 layout or a handful of preselected layouts.

I believe a lot do, actually. I remember seeing that option back in Halo 2 and many other games since, I think.

It was nice of them to add it, but I doubt it was just for one person. I bet they received other requests as well.

bizzarely, I had the same thought when playing, didn't know it was possible.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

respect,

but why the hell would anyone play like that!?

Just shows that ND are the best devs out there. Most devs wouldn't even respond to the guy, let alone make a change for a small niche of gamers.
