Forums - Nintendo - Epic Mickey: Epic Win or Epic Fail? (semi-spoiler material ahead)

I want you to answer the titular question based only on what you have seen so far... Will it be a glorious critical and sales darling? Or will it be an equally glorious market flop? I would also like to hear your reasons for the assessment... Let me start with my assessment and reasoning...

I believe it will be an epic win because they are not only tapping well-known Disney canon, but they're also moving into the domain of lost or unheard of Disney with appearances by the Mad Doctor, the Phantom Blot (returned amid a rare case of Team Rocket Wins, and further achieving Badass Abnormal status), the Gremlins (good guys, strangely enough), and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit (you wouldn't believe what The Walt Disney Company had to do to get this guy (back?) on their roster (can you say "talent exchange"?); at least now he might have a chance to earn the fame he never had a chance to enjoy all these years of being held hostage by (NBC) Universal). The setup is genius. The wrinkles in the plot are inspired. The use of a morals system is pretty sweet. All that, plus the possibility that it will scare the pants right off of you at times, is why I give this game a glowing recommendation!

Please state your opinions, and try to leave any console biases out of the equation...

I think it will be a fun game by concept execution i do not know. But i'm thinking that it will be one of those cult favorites probally reaching maybe 500k sales in its lifetime, unless it is heavily marketed, and if they do a sequel that would sell better probally least a million if first was good and second is good with advertising.

"Like you know"

I was never that big of a Disney fan, even with Kingdom Hearts i prefer the Square characters than the Disney. However this game has got me really interested in the Disney world and im loving the look of the game and design. I feel its an "epic win". Make it a 2 player co-op campaign and itll be an "epic win with day 1 purchase" for me lol

I believe they can create a good series out of this so long as they give it enough work and effort. It could become as big or just a little smaller than KH series.

"Like you know"

Just after reading the plot summary on Wiki I placed a preorder for this game just a minute ago. Due to you making this thread, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about (since people keep talking about this game all the time), and it sounded so awesome that I now have it pre-ordered.

So to answer your question, I am almost 100% certain that it will be an epic win.

I think this is going to be one of the first 3rd party Wii games to break 15 mill sales. Epic Win all the way.

Albion - Its Fun as Ballz !!!!!

It will be enjoyed, but I don't think it will sell well. People don't want an "epic" Disney game.

I predicting 1.5 million + sales for this game and I predict this will sell 100000 K even in japan

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !

i really didn't like the screens of the game... didn't look good at all :(

based on the story, it seems epic but based on those screens, it looks bad.

This is never a good idea....  More people whine about games before they come out then praise them.
