Forums - Nintendo - More good news for Wii

Seen it just today: now in Italy you can buy them even at Post offices.

i dont know how thats good news since you can find wiis basically at any major store these days

@shadowD:
If even the Post, that in Italy is notoriously slow in every action, acknowledges its existence, it means that awareness of its existence increased here, it's becoming almost mainstream, at least potentially and conceptually, while in the past every console was named a "Playstation" (that anyway is still strong, even stronger than before, now that PS3 price is becoming more affordable even for people with medium wages).

Sounds unusual but cool, is it very popular over in Italy, how come the post office carries it? How about games, the post office can't carry many games can they?

more exposure is always good even if it is in an odd location.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

IT'S REALLY WEIRD:

Our main Telecom provider (Telkom) sells PS3, X360, Wii, DS and PSP! I've never seen such support for the gaming industry here in South Africa. Even in POOR areas you'll find PS3 and X360 games for rent at the Vid store. VGames have really penetrated the market here.

Can I get a roll of stamps and one of your Wiis? (never thought I'd ever hear that in my life)

I didn't ask, just read the notice saying to ask the clerks. Quite surely they don't keep them at the offices, they are already crammed enough with normal mail backlogs, I guess you can order the Wii at the offices and then retire it there or have it delivered to home. The notice didn't mention games.

Edit: As Poste Italiane have done banking and online banking too for some year now, I guess you can order them online too and choose the delivery you prefer... Checked, yes, they do online commerce too, they have a small catalog of games and they sell DS and PS3 too, but currently the products they advertise at offices are only Wii and a scooter.

ok that's odd...

you'd think they sell phones before games (communications being their business).
