Le Core System passera ainsi de 29.800 yens à 27.800 yens (182 à 170 €), tandis que l'offre dite Standard Model, plus ou moins équivalente à notre pack Premium, baissera elle de 39.975 yens à 34.800 yens (244 à 212 €). Un troisième pack est également prévu à compter du 1er novembre, pour une durée limitée. Ce Value Pack également commercialisé 34.800 yens (212 €) inclura à la fois le disque dur 20 Go, la connectique HDMI sur la console, mais aussi deux jeux dans une même boîte, Viva Piñata et Forza Motorsport 2. Microsoft n'a pas apporté de précisions en ce qui concerne le modèle Elite.

I don't see much coming out of it; Seems pretty minor to me. Even PS3 won't achieve anything earth-shattering with their small price-drop.

Interesting to see what they do with the Elite, as Japan seems to like that model (comparatively).

A bundle with Forza and Viva Pinata may do ok, though why you wouldn't just bundle forza, eternal sonata and blue dragon with the core is beyond me. The games have stopped selling, would cost nothing to include for free and would build fanbase for the sequels.

Did somebody realize the 360 is selling god damn strong recently?

Yeah its had two or three comparatively strong weeks. It also has Ace Combat 6 and Lost Odyssey this year, as well as the 360 version of Virtua Fighter 5 still to come. I think this could be an alright end-of-year in Japan for the 360, but we'll see. I hope it does well, and the reduced price-points will help it out.

The reason they aren't bundling Blue Dragon? It's getting Best Price treatment the same week. Why bundle a game for free when you know there'll be people still buying it (Blue Dragon still charts in Japan, FYI).

The X360 actually has a strong lineup for the rest of the year in Japan:

Too bad the X360 already has a history of increased hardware sales when old multiplat PS3 games have come to it. One can only fathom how a million-selling Dynasty Warriors will do when the X360 is almost half the price of the PS3.
