I know, disolitude. That is the nature of the beast.
MS and Apple, mobile phone manufactuers, camera manufactuers etc.,
Tell me, if you are honest with yourself, who isn't guilty of this?
In all honesty, based on digital camera technology, the smaller the memory card being use means you can knock valuable millimetres of the size of a product.
Size, I noticed, was one of the pros you mentioned.
It's your own fault for not checking it out before.
You don't just go out and buy an expensive piece of hardware without doing a little research.
Let me show you why they call me the velour fog. Hit it.
I met her in a club down in old Soho,
Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like coca cola,
C-o-l-a, cola.
She, walked up to me and she asked me to dance,
I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said;
Leela, L-e-e-l-a, Leela, Lee, Lee, Lee, Leela
Leeeeeeeelaaaaaaaa

Its hillarious how the standard sony supporters don't see anything wrong with Sony ditching their memory stick.
Just think about it. You can always use a memory stick micro with a memory stick adapter so they can still sell their new memory cards. All they had to do is include a slot for their own proprietary format that was introduced 4 years ago.
The fact the thing costs 250 bucks and it doesn't support your own company's proprietary memory format is a huge cheapshot by sony.
Nevertheless, I knew I could return it hence I didn't do much research. No harm no foul...Im just more bitter at company practices thats all.
Lets put this in simpler terms.
PSP = DS
PSPgo = DSi
You buy a DSi and EXPECT it to be able to do everything the previous models can do, but oh noe
Again lets compare
PSP = Ipod
PSPgo = Ipod Nano
You buy MANY songs for your Ipod,you buy an Ipod nano thinking its better when... IT WONT PLAY .MP3 You have to REBUY all your songs in a different format.
@justinian
I am not sure other companies ditch memory formats like Sony did here. I mean I own a brand new Fuji camera and it uses XD memory card. Same format as the Fuju camera I got in 2002.
I understand Sony wanted to save space but they could have included a slot that supports their own format which is the newest format introduced on the market.
I think I am pissed because I still kinda want the PSP go...I just can't bring myself to give them the money for the cheapness they pulled.

XD is the most expensive format out there, can you even get a 4GB or more XD card??
Memory Stick Duo -> M2
SD -> MicroSD
DDR2 -> DDR3
Harddrive -> SSD
just the way digital memory works, it has nothing to do with Sony

Its hilarious that you say that as how I've made it clear that I hate the PSP GO! on 100's of different occasions YET you still somehow generalise my statement into what SONY fans think & actually don't even read the first sentence of my post
thats whats hilarious......it once again shows you don't research properly
now, get over it.....you couldn't research properly, only you can be blamed for buying it without knowing such an important thing.

lol.
We will compare your research skills when you are no longer in your teens and have a 40+ hour a week job, steady gf that wants your attention on daily basis (they all do), your own apartment to take care of and are still a gamer who is trying to play the new PS4...but it doesn't want to plug in to your power supply cause its using Sonys proprietary nuclear power station.
I feel you, Disolitude. Apple is that way with every iteration of mac hardware they put out. Always trying to milk more money. I've not adopted much Sony product, but I do know about lots of griping among the video recording community about the Sony memory stick /proprietary HW in that field.
