Right now, I'm just Gameflying AC6. If I really like it, I'll buy it later.

There are just too many games coming in the next 2 months for me to buy them all.

Dang ... I miss GF. I had the 4 games out plan. I ended up canceling it because it was just too much money a month and I kept the games.

With my next job, I may get GF again.

....why is that friggin controller $90? Insane.

But I do agree - playing a flight game without a joystick is just....Not fun. I remember switching from a qwerty keyboard to a nice $40 flight stick back on ye olde A-10 Thunderbolt 2.

Can't wait to try AC6...But it'll have to wait.

I *still* haven't beaten ES or BD yet.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Off topic - which one do you like better? I love ES - the music, the anime - it rocks. BD is cool, but I haven't touched it since I reviewed it.

I know it will collect dust, but I definitely want that flight stick. If it can work with Over-G Figthers, sweetness.

I like BD more...  More polished feel to it and the story gets better as the game moves on...

There's a huge difference between a flightstick and the command console of Steel Battallion - it had 2 joysticks and over 30 buttons and switches, as well as 2+ rudder pedals. That was worth the extra $60, as you were getting about 5x the controller, hehe.

As for BD vs. ES...It just depends. My g/f likes ES more because of the accessible battle/combat system. IMO, BD is vastly more polished, and the actual levels are much better (ES dungeons are so freaking linear, whereas BD takes from the great level design of old Final Fantasy games).

I'd give BD a slight edge over ES. ES has better art direction with the cell shading, ES's combat's more innovative too. However, the character development, dungeons, bosses, and challenge of BD are much better.

Had the designers of ES made the dungeons better (more BD like), that woulda been enough to tip the scale in ES's favor.

I'd give:
Blue Dragon: 8.75
Eternal Sonata: 8.50

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I really want to play this game, but it's not coming out on PS3 until next year if it is ever coming out. Does anyone know if the Ace Edge pack is coming out in Europe? I've played Ace Combat Squadron Leader, the Belkan War and Skies of Deception and I just love the games, great graphics and it is all so fun

add me

I love flight combat game but I agree that $90.00 is a bit steep for controller to be used for just this one game.  (Though in my younger year, I did buy TM stick just for Falcon 3.0 so ...)  There are just so many 360 games out now that make it very hard to justify spending $90.00 extra (for that I could get two more games).

ES is good but very very linear (which kind of nice sometimes when you just want to pick up and play).  BD is a lot deeper game than ES.  Given the choice of one or another, I would pick BD.  My son blaze through BD without properly level up all his char and now he is having hard time with boss battle... in ES you don't have to worry much about properly level up characters.
