Forums - Gaming - 6 Games That Can Challenge Uncharted 2 Visually

I just have to say, for what it does.. Killzone 2 is miles ahead of uncharted 2. The gun looks real. With fire and explosions and lightning all casting shadows.. mmmmm

But overall presentation in environments and colors, (and oh man the snow) of uncharted is better.

̶3̶R̶D̶   2ND! Place has never been so sweet.

LOL at the usual 360 games cant possibly be in that list reactions.

Anyway I'd say that Alan Wake is by far the front runner here. Especially after seeing the tornado video in Alan Wake. And the lighting. Generally agree with the list. I would have put Last Guardian in and not GOW3 ( I think it's good, but no better than Dante Inferno visually. )

Who implied that? In fact, I see quite a few posts that believe Alan Wake has a shot at Uncharted 2, including my own.

Dude tentire firs tpage has loads of, Dont agree with Alan Wake or SCC posts. Didnt bother reading anymore. Obviously not everyone, but most people are sick of hearing about how 360 cant do better. Me included.

I'm surprised Halo Reach wasn't on this list, as well as Crysis 2.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Crysis? Durrr

I LOVE ICELAND!

Well, I can see how that would be frustrating, although I think it's equally as frustrating when people claim the PS3 and 360 are "twins" when they are not.

Regardless, there are titles that visually have a shot Uncharted 2. As far as animations/physics go, that's another story. Uncharted 2 will keep that crown until HEAVY RAIN releases.

See there I believe SCC looks awesome for animations. I havent played U2 yet so can only go off videos for both. But SCC has some of the best animations Ive seen. The interegation pieces look amazing. Love the one where he puts the knife through the guys hand. U2's look great to. Also Mass Effect 2 from what Ive seen has some incredible animation. As does AC2. ( Remeber pushing through the crowd in AC1?

Splinter Cell: Conviction's animations I'm sure will be top notch. Having a shot Uncharted 2 though is challenging, because Naughty Dog seems to have pinned that down, and HEAVY RAIN can top it simply because it's been in development MUCH longer than Uncharted 2 and is going specifically for that: LARGE amount of animations. In fact, HEAVY RAIN is the biggest animation project to date, according to Mr. Cage.

But besides all that, there ARE games that have a shot at Uncharted 2. Be it PS3 or 360, exclusives and multiplat.

The reality is, I'm sure you agree. That all these games will be close to each other and in the end not really matter. They will all look fantastic. And I can play them all from Christmas. I told my wife Uncharted 1 and MGS4 are what I want first. And LBP if it's cheap enough for her to get as well.

There are no screens from Halo: Reach so how can it be on the list.

God of War 3 - Really ? I don't think so...

Alan Wake an Splinter Cell: Conviction - Probably somewhere around UN2, but to beat it overal will be hard.

Rage and Crysis 2 - 99% sure they will beat UN2 overal.

Heavy Rain - maybe equal to UN2

Mass Effect 2 - equal to UN2

AC2 - naaahh...

the only game i see here on your list that may look visually better is heavy rain..maybe..the rest of the list is just a joke.

Uncharted 2 has set a new benchmark in visuals. The game had plenty of stunning moments and the country of Nepal was represented in such a way that no video game before was able to do. But there are about a number of games that can challenge Uncharted 2 visually. Here are six of them:
God of War 3

God of War 3 is one the games that will give Uncharted 2: Among Thieves a good challenge. The character models and their animations are top notch. The way the blood is represented in the game is truly unique. Hell, when you are hacking n slashing blood will pour all over your body much like when Nathan Drake gets his clothes wet. The scale of the environments are stunning and the huge enemies should look amazing on your HDTV. Watch this game closely as this might give Uncharted 2: Among Thieves a good scare.

Assassins Creed 2

Ubisoft have always been known for their amazing visuals in their video games. The way that Ezio moves is amazing. The animations of Ezio and that of Drake while jumping and diving are almost very much similar since both games essentially have a lot of plat forming sections in them. Again as with many of Ubisoft games the scale of the cities in Italy is going to be amazing. Ezio will move and attack in a realistic way which will make Ezio very much similar to our hero Nathan Drake.

Splinter Cell: Conviction

Sam Fisher never looked so good. And in the upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive, Conviction should be able to challenge Uncharted 2 visuals. The firefights and the presentation is awesome which makes Conviction a game that we should keep an eye out for. The only thing that might go against is this game is the graphics of the enemies, so far they are pretty bland. If Ubisoft can fix them up than we are in for a treat.

Rage
Rage is an upcoming first-person shooter and racing video game being developed by id Software. It will be using the id Software’s new id Tech 5 engine. Now Rage is one game that looks visually stunning. And as its being developed by id Software we can be rest assure the end product will be nothing short of spectacular. We at-least here are counting on this beautiful piece of art. Rage will surely be a visual delight for all parties concerned. Hope it doesn’t disappoint.
Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain being developed by, Quantic Dreamc, who also made games like Fahrenheit,is an upcoming AAA PS3 title. Ever since it was first shown back at E3 2006, it caught the eyes of everyone and people were stunned by the quality of tech demo that was shown. Everyone has been in love with heavy rain since then and one of the reason is the sense of realism associated with Heavy Rain. Everything seems so close to real life that everytime you see a new Heavy Rain trailer you are left amazed and thats mainly due to the awe-inspiring visuals. We bet Heavy Rain will give Uncharted 2 a run for its money as far as the graphics are concerned.
Alan Wake

Alan Wake is an upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive by Remedy Entertainment, the company behind Max Payne games. It features open-ended world backed by an epic story. First thing you notice about Alan Wake are the beautiful visuals. Everything from environment to characters seems stunning and attention to detail is clearly shown on screen. This is one game to watch out for in 2010. And definitily should make the guys at Naughty Dog a bit worried.

God of War III = Probably.

Assassin's Creed II = Nah...

Splinter Cell: Conviction = Very close.

Rage = definitely in environments. Not sure about character models.

Heavy Rain = Hands down for character models. Environment looks great also, but could use more work.

Alan Wake = Other than the lighting effects, I don't think so. The environment looks very nice though.

My own 2:

Crysis 2 = Yeah, especially the environment.

Mass Effect 2 = Environement isn't that great, but the attention to character detail is amazing.
