Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto has said that Nintendo will likely make the technology introduced in Wii "more compact" and "even more cost-efficient" in future Nintendo hardware.

Speaking with PopularMechanics.com, Miyamoto said:

"With both the Wii remote itself and Wii Motion Plus, what we've been able to do is introduce an interface that is both I think appealing and at the right price for a broad audience.

Wii Mini then, anyone?

Shigeru Miyamoto is currently on tour promoting New Super Mario Bros. Wii which launches in Europe at the end of next month, though the Nintendo super star was quick to point out that he's currently "focusing on creating the next Zelda Wii game".

We can't wait.
