How is this overhyping?  To me its just a bunch of people talking about its possible sales.  And isn't that what this site is supposed to be for?  While it may be a little far away from the title shipping, atleast its not another Forza 3 vs GT thread. 

It's overhyping the effect the game will have and its sales potential.

I don't know about 15 million man. Its got the Halo name so it should sell well but I doubt that well.

I don't know of a series where a spinoff has outsold a main series game. I doubt neither ODST nor Reach will even touch Halo 3's huge sales.

You do realise Reach isn't a spinoff, right? It's a brand new main game. It is the biggest story of the main game story to be brought to the series. The Fall Of Reach is the beginning. It's how Masterchief ends up the only spartan left. It will be a fully fleshed new engined game. It's effectively Halo 4.

You're out of control (hana)MontanaHatchet... how will it sell 15 million... well I'm sure it'll do better than Halo 3 and if you put it in all the Natals and pack it with the holiday 360s you could reach that number without much of a problem

I read somewhere a while back that if you don't count the re release and the re re release, episode one would have made more money even adjusted for inflation.

Back in the late 70's it was common for a movie to be re-released over and over because those movies weren't aired on television like they are now. And they didn't have VHS,DVD,Blu-ray etc...


Both movies made a ton of cash and I would have been happy if I had made them. The most important thing for microsoft and bungie is for the game to make money and I have no doubts it will make plenty of that. I just hope it also amazes. (enough of this thread for me) :P
