Forums - Sony - New MGS4 Gameplay Vids (or "Why I will own a PS3")

So it's basically the same game with better graphics, sound and storyline? Gfx don't matter that much to me, actually i'm only really interested in the storyline and espionage as this game has never been about the graphics.

The reason I OWN a ps3

Supporter of

 SONY & Nintendo

Consoles owned - SNES, N64, PS, GC, PS2, PSP, PS3

 I DO NOT support Xbox

My prediction for YEARS END:

WII - 18.3 Million

Xbox 360 - 15 Million

Playstation 3 - 8.5 Million

The graphics are very detailed, and the gameplay looks better than it was before.

 2008 end of year predictions:

PS3: 22M

360: 25M

wii: 40M

OK well now I'm convinced of playing the series.

Anyone who thinks ps3 isnt a must have in about a year is not a real gamer.

I am WEEzY. You can suck my Nintendo loving BALLS!

I agree with you, this is actually the first game that doesn't try to fill the screen with overdone technical demo's of bump-mapping, filling half of the screen with white space and then call it HDR or just letting everything explode just to show some particles effects and 'hey we stole this sound effect from half-life'-pitch sound crap.

It is just all about the gameplay and that looks more then interesting and straight from the series.

A bit of a shame that there was already some loading going on, yet it was short and the PS3 doens't has a lot of memory. So it is understandable.

This is the first PS3 product thats isn't about the sublime graphics that the PS3 can't produce, but just hardcore and toughtfull gameplay. This will be one of the PS3 top 2008 games. (and if they keep on wanna-show-cool-graphics-yet-i-cant products, the only one too)

Meh. I mean, the game looks pretty as hell, but it doesn't seem like it'll play like anything I haven't already played 10 times before.

Aside from that, calling a console a "must have" based upon a handful of games that are still in development is jumping the gun just a teeny bit. :)

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Gah, can't wait for this...I'll have to though...

Maybe my one friend might buy a PS3 when this comes out...otherwise there's no way for me to see or play this...unless you want to bring up the whole 360 port thing again...

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Not my type of game (although I have MGS:PO on PSP) yet it seems AWESOME, a direct rival to Super Mario Galaxy. Graphics look gorgeous and gameplay isn't broken, so why change it? (dramatically)

Rival to Super Mario Galaxy? The games are nothing alike...why can't we just like both?
