PC gamers are not the same drones that console gamers are. This is definatley going to hurt sales.

Also, shrinking your userbase and making up money on DLC is not healthy for a company.

So they will not purchase the game.  And IW will have to make the decision to either cater more towards PC gamers in an effort to garner more sales from them, or give less of a shit about them.

I couldn't care less about what infinity ward choses to do. never liked their games anyway. As long as PC has Valve, Dice and Blizzard, Infinity ward is irrelevant.

Also, if IW wants to screw their custoumers over, it's better that they do it on other platforms.

Some good threads on the IW forums- dozens upon dozens of clans cancelling their pre-orders and stories about US game shops returning thousands of pre-orders.

Yep, and if Activision has their way, they will do. Welcome to $80 games with 4 hour single player campaigns which you won't be able to play online 6 months after release unless you've forked out another $50 on DLC.

 Video games have become more of a console business then a PC business.  There is way too much pirating going on with the PC games that these developers need to do something or just not make PC games anymore.  We have already seen developers trying different things to battle the piracy problems.  They need to take control of their published games back and it is only going to get worse.  That PC "freedom" is going to be affected big time especially on these high budget popular games.

^ PC gamers won't take it. we will simply buy the games that give us freedom or someon will crack the anti-piracy measures and the game will be pirated anyway.

what companies should do is to make more games that people want to BUY. Games with lasting appeal like Starcraft wich I own 3 copies of and still play to this day from the day it came out.

But the thing is, you can make more money if you shit out half-assed rehashes of a game year after year, than making one good everlasting game.

And with pricks like Bobby Kotick in control of the industry, that's the route certain developers will end up taking.

Wow that really sucks... I read the news 2 days ago and though IW would not put up servers... now I did a search to see how active the modding and map making was on CoD and bam....

i'm considering removing my preorder and going for L4D2 instead ^^ (only have time for one time sucking FPS)
