To me, to rate a game anything less than 7 it has to have actual technical flaws or issues, whether the genre appeals or not. I'd never mark down an jRPG, for example, because I don't like turn based combat, because that's taste, nothing technical about the title. 'Gotta say, too, it fascinates me that such a title, vs say Halo 3, or MGS4, should seem to attract the most irritation in some people. Who'd have figured? |

There's always someone bound to put a lower score just for the sake of it, and there's always people who will rate the games way down than normal just because it didn't fit their "parameters" for a game. In the Dead Space ranking there's already a 5 and all the reasons for it are completely moot :P

Oh...I feel sorry for him then, since I hated RE5 will all my heart xD It's funny that he loves RE5 and thinks that Dead Space as a survival horror was pretty lame xD As I said, personal Vendetta issues.

Just out of curiosity, I'd list the lowest/highest scores for the rankings, too. It's interesting to see just how far the spread was - i.e. is the game divisive on opinions or do most people feel the same.
For LBP we have scores of 3 to 10 - which is pretty damn astonishing.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
I think voting should be controlled in some ways - I am not voting for games that I do not own (or have played) and that should be fairly clear and set out. Also to make things fair, the top 5 and bottom 5 votes could be disallowed, akin to what happens in olympic sports such as diving and skating.

It is astonishing if you look at it in both the contrast of the gaussian deviation of the people's opinions towards this critically acclaimed game in comparison to more mainstream top rated ones, and in the actual reasons as to why the game should get lower scores, reasons those that most times don't reflect the actual reality of the game.
