It would be much better on everyone if there was just one console. All games would be better, all features would be better, cost would be lower, options would be better, etc.

All it would take is a good organization formed between the major console parties (Sega, MS, Sony, Nintendo, and maybe one or 2 more) that could then split production, license fees, royalties, online network and revenue, etc. In the end developers would be able to make more games, better, and cheaper for the consumer, giving us more choice and enjoyment for our dollar, and that would mean more profits to the console organization.

While PC doesn't have or is yet to see GoW2, Halo 3, Fable 2, etc, it has the previous games on the series and nothing is hinding developers to pull out PC versions of this games, unless microsoft pays them to wether do it or not to do it.

Microsoft games can always and in most of the cases they find a home on PC gaming. Sony 1st party PS3 exclusives are not getting PC versions for 100% shure.

I think from now on the majority and soon all 360 exclusives will begin to be just 360 exclusives, with PC exclusives moving to multiplat with consoles (much like Crysis).  Piracy is ruining PC gaming and developers want to go where it is a bit more protected (consoles).

@Reasonable, I'm pretty sure if we start from the beginning of the generation and count all the 360 exclusives not on PC they equal Sony's true exclusives.  I don't want to dig for hours, but since the 360 has like 200+ more total games than the PS3 it has to have the same or more "true" exclusives in there somewhere.

Oh sure, I wouldn't expect you to do any digging for me - that would be silly.  I was more just sharing my perhaps incorrect preconceptions.  I agree on titles going forward, and expect to see more 360 titles forgo a PC version (like says Gears 2).  I think for gaming MS is way more behind 360 than PC, and if they felt that having too many titles on 360/PC was ending up bad for 360 market perception they'd sacrifice the PC version.

Also, a huge chunk of each consoles library is going to be multiplatform anyway, so the exclusives aren't the be all and end all for either console it seems to me.

Exclusives tend to be of higher quality (just look at Uncharted 2, MGS 4, and Gears of War). So yeah, I miss having more.

Does a game play better because it's exclusive?

Last Gen was dominated by one console, most 3rd party games went one place. And my God, we never enjoy greatness when its facing us,  it's until next Gen we will realize how amazing games have been this generation.

Look at 2007 then 2010. We will have two amazin year in just one Generation.

I think EVERY year this gen has been amazing

2008 with MGS4, GTa4 & LBP, SSBB, COD:WAW

2007 with Uncharted, R&C, Halo, SMG, assassins Creed

2009 with you know which ones

2010 with FINAL FANTASY XIII & GRAN TURISMO 5, SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2

I loved my Ps2 exclusives but i have around 20 for Ps3 and atleast half of them are exlcusives as well and soon I shall ad more to the library
U2, GT5, Heavy Rain, Gow 3, MaG, Demon Blade
So I'm good

Demon Blade is a wii exclusive =P
