Forums - Sony - Exclusive: Sony PSP2 arriving in 2010, features PowerVR SGX543 graphics.

IF Sony does this so soon after the release of the PSPGo, then they (as a company) are bigger @$$holes then anyone expected.

Plus, that chip setup does not allow for BC - which is a huge slap in the face to PSP fans.

I'll probably buy a PSP2 - if priced reasonably - but I would be pissed if I owned a recent PSP/PSPGo. In fact, I was going to buy one this holiday, but now - not a chance.

well that depends, sony have PSN now, that allow them to do BC easily.

Wouldn't surprise me at all: the PSP Go always seemed to me like a test, to see if a completely digital distribution was possible.

Though I persist to believe that we will see the psPhone before the PS2P.

They need to make a PSP phone. I think that would own the iphone if they managed to get it out for under $400.

No, this is exactly what would be the death of them.  If you start mixing a gaming machine with a phone, you have a phone device that is outdated in 6 months whereas the gaming device can still be utilized for 2-5 years.  And if you keep releasing new 'models', especially that cost $300-500 dollars, the public will just drop your platform for a cheaper (see Nintendo DS) platform.

Remember the N-Gage people.  Don't turn the PSP into that.

This article is just speculation and the author did not bother to list sources for his statement. Why even bother to give this site hits when another site will pop up next week with even better salacious info to grab the imaginations of gamers. That's all it does and it leads to endless speculation by gamers for products that will not live up to this level of hype. You are warned. This site does not have any credibility what so ever. Why even bother.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

You mean like IGN linking to sources like 'blogs' and 'forums' and gamespot posting rumors from 'inside sources known to them'.

Everyone now adays does it.  Its just what you consider a 'creditable' site.  (In my opinion, none of them are anymore.)

I won't believe this until Sony confirms or i see confirmation from a site i trust.

Guys listen, by forgetting about backwards compatibilities, they mean leaving the UMD format overall, which we all predicted. They will still have the PSN store with all those old PSP games. The PSP Go was basically a "test" to see if downloadable games would work. It did. So now the new PSP2 will be digital only.

No, they mean the architecture won't be compatible with PSP games. So unless they create software emulation, this thing won't ever be playing PSP games. This has nothing to do with UMD.

2010? I doubt it. The DSI wasn't released too long ago and the PSP GO was just released a few weeks ago. Nintendo and Sony would both be shooting themselves in the foot.

If anything a new XBox should be out at It's 5th year anniversary but It's obvious MS wants to keep the 360 going strong with Natal.

It's just that simple.
