No, it's call whining...who make you, or anybody else the consumer protection agency? Please, spare me the nonsense, it's captialism, you don't want it, take a freaking hike...but when somebody DOESN'T own a 360, but complians about XBL fee or accessories...that's just stupid. Let me worry about how I spend my money, and you worry about yours...thank you very much. |
Oh, so now you decide who can speak?
Anyhow, MS worries me for its relentless attempts to get monopolies and for its unchangeable attitude to make you pay even the air you breathe, if it has the power to do it. If you aren't worried and you're glad to pay everything and to be forced to pay MS for things you could buy elsewhere for less, weren't for MS policies, good for you, just ignore my posts, but I won't stop writing.
And I won't comment about the stupidity of doing anything, everybody has his own style.

Huh? So anyone who believes this move isn't in the best interest of the consumer is a troll or hater?
I for one am not a hater, but fine, next time I wish to say anything i'll just run it by you first.

it's not just over the HDD. There are other examples of MS being a pain. IL-2 BoP the developers are allowed to program PS3 version to use a PC flight stick as well as adjust the deadzone while MS will not allow them to do the same with X360.
I would bet it's MS who has something to do with Logitech (they are not allowed to say) not being able have 360 support for their new G27 wheel.
its not a push agaisnt piracy. my friends just download dvds and burn them and play them on their 360s. You pirate your 360 offline, if you go online you're a retard.
This is nothing more than a dick move to sell drastically over priced hard drives, that is it.
I love my 360 and I love Microsoft but this is totally retarded.
This means that when we move forward, and they go full digital download, you'll be required to spend 150$ for a 120gb hdd while ps3 owners can get a 500gb hdd for 120$.

Kind like me bitching about Sony screwing over consumers by forcing them to adopt to a new media format in brd, or Nintendo screwing over consumers by selling ancient technology at $249 for the longest time. Gimme a break...it's capitalism, and if you don't like it, boycott with your dollars, and yes...sorry, but if you don't own an 360, you don't have a damn thing to complian about iwth this move...in fact, ps3 fans should be cheering it, in hopes of getting people to jump ship...since rrod couldn't do it.

At last you got it! So we couldn't care less if you don't like it, but we'll keep on doing our best to let people know BEFORE they buy MS. And why limit ourselves to facts? It would be about time MS tastes the FUD it so likes to spread against the others.
BTW, why people not buying MS should buy Sony, there's Nintendo too, there's the good old PC, if we have to pay MS an OS license, we might as well use it as much as possible without giving MS more money, you are jumping to conclusions that everybody not liking MS is a Sony fanboy, that's not true.

Seriously, who are you to say that we can't complain? I bought a 360, I have always known that HDD upgrades have been possible, that I can go out and get a 2GB Memory card if need be. Now almost 2 years later I find out that those options have been taken away from me and that those 3rd party devices sitting at Bestbuy are obsolete.
If I spent a lot of money on these peripherals in the last year or so, I would be pretty damn pissed to try and load up my Mass Effect save file for a Mass Effect 2 new game, only to find out it no longer works and that it wasn't my fault for it no longer doing so. I wouldn't say "Oh well, this is capitalism, let me just go out and buy the one they want me to now", hopping and skipping my way there with an "I don't care" attitude.
You want to bitch about Sony and their Bluray or Nintendo with outdated hardware, you go right on ahead. Although I would suggest doing it a different thread because they have nothing to do with the topic at hand. This is Microsoft's move we are discussing, I don't give a damn right now about what the other 2 are doing. There will always be a time and place for those discussions as well.
You want to spend your money on overpriced proprietary accessories with zero alternative options, you want to support a company taking your ability for choice away, which you had since 2005, go ahead, I don't care. Don't come in here though saying that I have no right to care because it is capitalism, because as a gamer I don't give a shit what it is, all I know is that I had my choices taken away. I possibly had my items, which I purchased long ago, no longer working now because Microsoft, 4 years later decided they just don't want me to be able to use them anymore.
In the past you could mod your HDD, but the risk was being banned from LIVE, something I could live with because I do not game online with my 360. This has been in effect as I said, for almost 4 years now. So if I did so 4 years ago, guess what? Without a thread like this informing me before hand, I could have lost 4 years worth of gaming.
Go ahead though, your choice. Go defend these companies instead of your fellow gamer.
I however know who's side I am on, regardless of the type of economy we live in.
It has nothing to do with MS, Sony or Nintendo. I would be pissed if anyone did this to me after so many years.

Just read what I wrote and put yourself into that gamers shoes. Would you still not care?
Still doesn't affect me though. I have a 20GB and haven't had any need for additional storage space. Like I said, I just understand other viewpoints than just my own.
