I really loved GTA:SA and it feels like a downgrade i can play gta:sa any day and have fun but this one is just meh and the missions are boring

The SP campaign is without the doubt the heart of every GTA game.
Now that's the problem. The story might be better told and more realistic than in previous games, but also more predictable and less exciting.
Many of the 90 main missions are repetitive and bland. (With the exception of the best mission, I guess it's called "Bank Robbery" or something in the English version)

On a side note:
The city is too big and everything looks the same thus having almost no recognition value. I have to check the map every time I want to drive certain ways. I can still remember every street and every corner in GTA III's Liberty City, Vice City and whole San Andreas.

Oh and it's ridiculous how Nico leans to the side when he moves to the right or to the left. Looks horrible !

I'd give it still a solid 9.0 though

My comment regarding Munkeh's review. He didn't even read it me thinks :'(

I didn't like it much at first when I played it a year ago so I put it down, I picked it back up a month ago and played through. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

8.7/10

People rate it too low because it didn't meet their expectations but if you just rate it what it is, I'd say it should be in the 8.5 area.

@AdventWolf

I think you're putting a label on people who rated it low, just because you say so. People rate it accordingly to what they felt the game gave them in terms of experience and in terms of fun when compared to other GTA games.

Would you rate a game that bored you completely after a few minutes of gameplay and that you found some big flaws, 8.5 in your own opinion? I rated it 7 because that what it was for me, and i'm going to stand by it. It may have not met my expectations, but I have played tons of games that didn't met my expectations and have found them to be rather great and fun.

Don't go judging people just because you think otherwise.

^I'm sorry, I didn't clarify that "Some people" rate it low because I that. I agree that some people didn't like it because they just didn't like it.

@AdventWolf

That's Ok then. Sorry for the whole outburst, in past ranking game threads, people have been gunned down because of low scores, myself included, and I was a bit defensive on this thread, my bad ;).

^Yeah no problem, I would have probably done the same thing lol.
I sometimes make post thinking that people know what I am thinking.

I can't think of a bigger letdown than this game. This game single handedly opened my eyes to how much of a bullshit all "gaming reviewers" are and how is completely stupid to put my gaming purchasing choices in their hands, so I guess I can at least say thank you GTA IV in a weird way.

Finished the game once probably won't touch it again.
