I'm not saying it can't happen, but you PS3-only owners shouldn't get your hopes up too much.

ME2 has more of a chance to come to the Ps3 than MGS4 had to 360... that didnt stop 360 fans
As a 360 owner I don't mind if this game goes multi-platform, however if they do, they should have released it on both consoles at the same time to prevent either console from having the definitive title. After Tov, Bioshock, and Ngs 2, I'm quite sick of devs and publishers using 360 owners as a stepping ground for another console.
Someone posted this in another thread and I thought it would be useful here. It's the same guy on the Bioware forums saying the following:
Hi folks
There is a report circulating today based on an appearance I made in Poland yesterday. Seems there was a misunderstanding about ME2 coming to PS3.
Let me clarify today: ME2 is coming to PC and X360 only. Look for them both on Jan 26 in NA and Jan 29 in Europe.
Sorry for the confusion.
I know this doesn't completely take away from what was said or the other rumors, but I thought it was noteworthy.

Yeah, I saw that. It was a damn odd slip of the tongue whichever way you look at it. TBH, with so many titles suddenly appearing on platforms that have been denied I'm not really making any conclusions other than right now we know it will launch on 360/PC only on a given date - everything else remains a possibility in my eyes.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

So, to summarise:
Press: Is Mass Effect coming to PS3?
Bioware: Mass Effect releases on 360 and PC in January 2009
Press: That doesn't answer my question!
Bioware: We don't comment on rumour and speculation.
Internet: Mass Effect 2 PS3 listings
Bioware: *no comment* and a wink.
Bioware: ME2 is probably coming to PS3
Bioware: No wait, it isn't.

Either they're lying through their teeth, or they were considering it, and they've decided to keep it exclusive.

I reckon that Mass Effect Two will put in an appearance on PS3 but probably in 6 months time.
I dont reckon it will be an enforced timed exclusive just that the DEVS will do the port after ME2 has started shipping on Xbox 360
