I'd recommend Elebits, No More Heroes, and Wii Sports Resort. The first 2 can be bought used really cheap now, and are definitely worth at least a rental for their unique gameplay styles.

if your wii is connected online, i'd say get any virtual console games you might have been interested in but never played, and some wiiware goodness, namely world of goo, swords and soldiers, my life as a king, bit bit beat, flowerworks (coming out in a month or so) and others.
