I have to laugh when some people claim that freakin Uncharted 2 is going to boost PS3 sales but that the successor to quite possibily the most popular gaming franchise OF ALL TIME coming out 15 years after its predesecor, is not going to move a significant amount of Wiis.

I'll tell you one thing right now, if NSMB Wii doesn't move a lot of Wiis, Nintendo might as well call it quits now and end the system's life early, because if a new 2-D Mario can't do it, NOTHING will.

they are still outselling the comptition

& the mario audience could ALREADY be on wii.....I mean that can be a point in his favour.

Doubtful, the only games to get into the 2D Mario range are the Wii franchise titles

but you cannot compare a handheld & a console game

much has changed in the last 15 years

the question is, do people want to play a 2D mario sitting at home?

NSMB DS.....had a great appeal

not all games that do well on handhelds do well on consoles, & vice versa.

People want to have fun, that never changes, 2D mario is greater fun for more people than 3D mario, and people love games they can play in groups

Looking good, the one factor 360 has going for it is, after it's price drop last year (excluding Japan) the PS3 didn't come close to U.S or Others sales for 360. 360 is already ahead of PS3 in America.

Japan will be better, but it's never going to be N.A/Others levels.

Yup, 20k lead on 25th October and 70k lead on 25th november. With 360 already being ahead in America, does a PS3 lead look likely there?

Monster Hunter is not Mario, 2D mario has always been better, even on the consoles, highest selling mario is a console version

More fun for more people. as its more accessible than 3D

It will look like this soon:
