Good Wii, DS and PS3 sales not so good for PSP and PS2 and average for X360

I'm not sure if the Wii's 2nd year will not be its peak year.

I think Nintendo knows they screwed up and will see to a steady flow of software in 2010. I know one thing, 2010 will be > than 2009 in terms of YTD sales.

Every current gen console > 130k in a quite dead period.
PS2 still > 50k.
Over 1.25M consoles of any kind sold the week ending 10 Oct.

All the next releases put together, plus the price cut, will help Wii having a big Xmas. A Mario title amongst the biggest launches will give additional stir, even people not liking him has more chances of hearing about Wii and its games if there's that fat Ron Jeremy plumber around.   

If NSMBW is a quality game and marketed properly it will bring new consumers to the Wii, regardless of whether they are "Mario fans" or not. It will probably create "new Mario fans". I can see Nintendo marketing it to families, some of whom won't have even heard of Mario. If they think it is quality then they will buy future Mario games. Holiday is just about the right time to bring this title out, advertise it to families and i'm sure the Wii will get both a decent and fairly sustained boost.

Are we forgetting the Wii came out in 2006? I'm guessing you guys mean:
Nov. 2006-2007 = Year 1
Nov. 2007-2008 = Year 2

Nintendo did get complacent and released bullshit for the Wii after April 2008 (with a few exceptions), but holiday 2009 is looking strong, and the console as a whole is getting a great lineup of games scheduled for 2010 (a dozen games we already know of.)

Anyways, after not even 3 weeks, the PS3 has been overtaken in sales by the 360 in NA. Seeing as to how the cheapest 360 is $199, the fact is not unreasonable.

But guys/girls, I ask that you remember this: Why do we even care about the console sales anyways? What you should be caring about is the games that are coming; I could care less how many hundreds of thousands the Wii or PS3 sold this week. Userbase may decide which games go where, but this generation has progressed far enough.

If the wii peaked in 2008 (and it did) then how come it is still outselling the ps3 in what i would call the ps3 peak year? i would be very suprised if the ps3 went ahead of the wii for more than 2 weeks in the run up to christmas. Plus new super mario bros will be massive.

Thwy love the 2d such as myself.  It will move alot of hardware. You sound like you are just afraid that it is going to happen.
