To be honest it was PGR3. I had 360 on launch day and loved that game. But the real game that got me all over the gen was Oblivion. When it released in early 2006, It was gobsmacking.
ES:Oblivion. I also got NG:Sigma at the same tie but it didn't feel "next-gen" to me since I played the original and black

Playing Tony Hawk's Project 8, Gears of War and later Crackdown on my brothers 360.
Gears of war.It fast first game to make me look away from my ps2...But I didin't still buy Xbox.

Dead Rising, zombeis for the win
My first home console this gen was Wii. I bought it because I wanted to play Brawl so much.

Of all of the game it was DEAD RISING that got played to death. No pun intended.
The game getting me into HD gaming is Uncharted 2 closely followed by my newly found anticipation for GT5
For me it was Bioshock, had always been a huge fan of the system shock series so it was only natural it would get me into this generation.
Failing that tho oblivion would have got me in.
