Forums - Microsoft - I am quite dissapointed this year.

In all honesty MS needs more 1st party POWER and they should stop 3rd party timed exclusives and timed DLC content, it all comes to PS3 in the end and with more stuff so its kinda hurting them for it now.

For example MS NEEDS a 1st Party RPG Dev team. you know, besides fable which is great, but very, very short.

i think you would be dissapointed if you play only shooters and action games since you can finish them in like 2 days or somethin. i have 20 360 games and since june(when i got 360) i finished 9 of them and i had a lot of time to spend on my 360. yet, i still will play those games to max them out someday.
there's plenty of great games for everyone. games like Dragon Age, Demon Soul's, Magna Carta 2 or Borderlands will give you weeks or even months of fun so i don't get people who say there's nothing to play - you can only say that if you rent games, play them for few hours and that's it.
seriously, my first playthrough in morrowind took me like 6 months, Test Drive Unlimited took me 2 months before i finished it and picked up PGR3(i play 2-3 different games at a time so i don't get bored and finish the games i have) and i don't even play online.

Demon Soul is a PS3 exclusive for now....PS3 got this, and we got Ninja Blade...lol!  Given the cost to produce these games, and as cited by several japanese developers as to how they use M$'s seed money...unless this game ships a million, they would have to port it to the 360 to breakeven.

Demons souls is a Sony owned ip. It will always stay exclusive, sorry.

LOL...MSGS needs to get their heads outta their ass and get to work...I'm confused as to why M$ even has it as a unit, when we've yet to see anything they are doing...seems like a waste of money to me...I guess there's Natal, but it seems like that's more under Xbox's umbrella then MSGS...or maybe they are combined.  I'm not sure about the org chart in EDD.

To be honest...from the exclusive front, this year was a bust for the 360...I enjoyed Halo Wars and Halo ODST, and Shadow Complex was a very good DLC game, imho, but that's been it...and Natal at E3 was great, but "Where's the Beef?" in exclusive gaming? M$ had better step their game up in 2010,...I'll give them some slack, as 2008 was GREAT...and the line-up is might strong right now with ME2 and Halo REach, but they had better have a beevy of AA+ at least titles by E3!

You are correct. But even in 2010, which will be the best year for xbox exclusives since 2007, there will be a megashittonload of AAA multiplatform games due to the pressure from MW2. So I think that would take some of the heat off of exclusivity, due to too many good games being multi.

I haven't seen any new franchises though, which I would like. Mainly cool sequels to fable, mass efffect, halo, KUF, and crackdown. All of which were AAA or deserved that identification. Well.. I guess alan wake is new.. But that's only one new series.

I'm looking at 2010 and beyond...Why are exclusives like Killer Instinct just wasting away?  Look at MechWarrior for example...M$ leased that back to have a 3rd party develop the upcoming game...WHY?!?!  M$ doesn't have enough money?  That's just stupid, imho.  M$ has a TON of potential AAA IPs...they are simply sitting on them, and It's a head scratcher.  MSGS needs to get project teams actively working IPs...instead of whatever the heck they are doing...

actually Mechwarrior is being made by FASA Corporation that created Mechwarrior and Shadowrun.

after the studio was closed and MS bought all of their IPs(not internet protocols) FASA founder with his coworkers made Smith & Tinker Inc. and rebought Mechwarrior, Crimson Skies and Shadowrun IPs back and started working on new Mechwarrior game.

Yeah...I know...but my question is 5 years into the Life of the 360...and we are JUST now seeing this heavily established series...that unsat bro!  Free Lancer is another one...wtf MSGS?

personally i think going to 3rd party developers is good way if they do it right. i would like to see simillar co-developed games like Metroid Prime: Other M.

if MGS would co-developed new games from their old franchises it would be awesome.
i would like to see Simbins take on Rallisport Challenge,
NIS, GUST or Atlus version of Sudeki 2,
or Bohemia Interactive on Freelancer/Starlancer,

I recommend you try games that you haven't played yet on the 360. If you played all the 360 games you wanted to play then I recommend the PS3. Save up money or sell your 360. There is a lot of great games on the PS3 that you will love.
