Final Fantasy 7.  One of my favorite games ever; I spent countless hours one summer playing it for the 3rd time and actually beaating it that time.

Or so I thought.

You see, I slayed Sephiroth but there are two goons that have been plaguing my days, Emerald and Ruby Weapon. I have been trying to beat Emerald for years, but only discovered Ruby 2 weeks ago. I've tried so many times to kill both that I'm without direction and I don't know what to do anymore.

I need some Materia recommendations, strategies, anything. If I can beat these two, it would be like 1,000,000,000 points added to the Gamerscore of my life LOL. I can permanently close the book of FF7 and never play it again, if Ruby and Emerald shiver in their Red animations and disappear.

Knights of the Round + Omnislash Spam FTW!!! (Thats how i beat both. :D)

You can beat Emerald with ease using the following materia and abilities:

Phoenix linked with Final Attack
Knights of the Round
Mime
Omnislash
Underwater materia
Also, any form of gravity magic automatically hits Emerald for 9999. So spam that as well. You should have him beat in no time.

Ruby is a different story. I found myself having a harder time with him. You need to go into the battle with two of your characters already dead. In other words, keep Cloud alive lol. You will need to wear a ribbon and have final attack linked with the best revival spell you got *not phoenix like with Emerald cause you will raise all of your allies and he will mess you up hard.*

Oh and in both battles, using 4X cut and Slash-All materia will also help you.

Emerald i found quite easy. I'l give you a few seperate tips.

It's always a good precaution to have the underwater materia... Just incase.

All 3 characters should be lvl 99 with a lot of mastered materia.

Knights of the Round with W-Summon on one character + Mime's on the others is really good. (mastered)

Final-Attack + Revive/Phoenix on as many char's as possible is a must (mastered)

Have Omnislash

4x Cut + Slash-All is also good.

Turbo Ether's + Megalixir's are a must.

I have all of those, but I didn't realize Gravity was effective against Emerald. I could link that with a (Magic) Counter-attack materia that I have for Barret. Whenever he is attacked, he uses whatever magic is linked with it.

Phoenix is what I was advised to link with Final Attack though......I don't know what else to use. I'll try Emerald first, he seems to be easier; no stupid Ruby tentacles.............

I didn't use a single elixir or megalixir though, take that CARL!

Ha, at using W-Summon KOTR + mime :P against Emerald. That's so spamming xD

My Strategy is using W-Magic + Demi3 with all characters and using White Wind to restore your characters, that way you'll have at most 4 materias on your characters and his Aire Tam Storm attack will hit you for only 4444 HP.

For Ruby, start the battle with two downed characters, and start using Dazers on Ruby.
I suggest stacking up on Dazers, 99 of them. Dazers will paralyze Ruby for a long time, that way you can revive your other characters, and with ribbon or Status Effect - Hades on your armor slots, you'll be protected against most status effects from the tentacles.
Just keep using Dazers and your attacks plus the limit breaks which will build up during the battle.
Never, and i stress this, NEVER, use KOTR on him, he'll just counter with a 9000-9999 damage Ultima.

guys if u open tray while fighting any boss in FF7 they stop action ....u keep action, just make sure to insert the disk back in b4 u beat em, 2nd is Mine KoR forRuby( only keep 1 person alive) and have ur whole team Mine KoR or Limit breaks with emerald
