Forums - Gaming - My 5 Biggest Disappointments of the Generation

1.

The sequel to one of my favorite games of all time. My expectations were too high and they went in a different direction further into 3rd person shoter territory. Partner A.I. was bad and towards the end it became a shooter.

2.

The creators of the Rogue Squadron games making a game where you fly around on a dragon and kill stuff? It should have been good, but it wasn't. Lots of technical problems and boring combat made this game a chore to play. It did have great music though.

3.

A gallery shooter by the developers of the PGR games didn't turn out half as fun as it could have been. The characters weren't different enough and there were too few levels and the shooting wasn't satisfying either.

4.

Great looking sandbox game set in the time of the crusades and that's where things go downhill. Repetitive objectives, the combat was fluid after getting used to it, but became really boring once you figured it out.

5.

The game never grabbed me like the first one, the story wasn't interesting and I never appreciated Molyneux's sense of humor, but worst of all the combat wasn't fun.

This a great list.

I agree with every single one except The Club. I was expecting that to be bad.

About Fable II, the game itself was pretty meh once you figured out how to completely break the combat but that said, it has probably one of the greatest endings of all time.

Never got to the end I quit a few hours into the game and traded it in.

On this list i agree with Fable 2, Lair and Assassin's Creed.

So you barely played a game for a hours and labaled it as one of the biggest dissapointments this gen?  I perfectly get not liking it, not every game is for everybody, but you should at least give a game a chance before labeling it that big of a dissappointment.

You were cool until now .... I WILL GET THE LAST LAUGH when Assassin's Creed II wins game of the year!
*runs away crying*

The thread title is 5 biggest disappointments not 5 worst games. If I was looking for 5 worst games it would be Petz and Horsez and other suchs games.

Fable 2 was superb imo, really hooked me in, I found gameplay really good and easy to use/understand, and I completed the campaign in less than a month, like twestern said, the ending is really good and clever, I liked how you could keep playing after it and do extra quests, I even helped one of my mates complete missions with the cool new multiplayed ability.

ive enjoyed Assasins Creed too, still not finished it though, lolz
