1. Mass Effect...who knew that this rental(soon after bought) game would become the J man's favourite of the gen.

That's one of my favorite games of the generation, maybe ever. Not in my list because I was expecting it to be amazing and it was.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

People, It's Bioware. Everything they do is WRPG Gold, so that didn't strike me as surprising. To me Mass Effect is the best WRPG this gen so far IMO, but i think Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 will soon take that crown ;)

2. Phoenix wright series...... best writing ever , in any game.

3.Professor Layton..... puzzles made fun ,made you feel like a champion after you solved one.

4. NBA 2k7........this experience blew the J man away , after years of playing nba live...the J man was blown away of how crappy nba 2k7 made nba live look...I was HOOKED...NBA 2K 4 LYFE!!!!

5. Batman AA... Damn this game nearly trouced every game released this year......with production values through the roof and an amazing campaign...this game will forever be the diamond in the crap-filled pool of crappy superhero games.

Mass Effect? BLASPHEMY!!!

It had gem written all over it!

Yea for you internet dwellers....the J man had no idea about any games quality back in 2007 ....this is the first gaming website he signed up for.

How the J man got the game: Couldnt find Modern warfare anywhere and as a last resort I went to my blockbuster and they didnt have it..... so I look through the barren 360 section in the store because I didnt want to leave empty handed ,and the only game that even looked remotely interesting was Mass Effect...I put it in my 360 and the rest is history...

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

Funny thing is, when Mass Effect first came out, I wasn't even a lurker yet on gaming forums.

I knew Mass Effect would be a gem since X06.

I didnt mean it in an offensive way...I just wasnt really aware of what was being released back then....certainly didnt watch no E3s back then either.

I'd put Deadspace, Wipeout HD, Batman:AA, and Siren on my list.

Also, maybe Folklore, and inFamous. I didn't expect shit from those games but they were great.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

My list would go as follow:

5. Turok: This game got blasted by a lot of people because it didn't have the guns from the old Turok games. Still, the stealth gameplay (if you want) and the environments in the game are really interesting. This recreation of the Turok universe makes a lot of sense and I would like to see more of it;

4. Gears of War: Seriously, I didn't know how to approach this game when I didn't have a HD console before (I thought it was a "real man's game," if you know what I'm saying...), but it turned out to be awesome for real! I'm glad I decided to play this on co-op first too, it was really worth it;

3. Dead Space: I was amazed by the story and the atmosphere in the game. Not really scary, just really disturbing. The gameplay and UI were really interesting. I can't wait to see the sequel to this new series;

2. Bionic Commando: Even though the game flopped really hard, the guys at GRIN (R.I.P....) did a good job at recreating the swinging mechanics from the old 2D games, and I couldn't have been happier to see RAD Spencer again! Some of the things they did in the game amazed me, and the final hours of the game are quite something. Capture the flag on multiplayer is great too. Too bad we will probably never see a sequel to this sequel;

1. Persona 4: I gotta admit, I am spoiled by Square's amazing presentations in their games, but this little game from Atlus still contains a lot of heart into it. Great little piece of software that came out of nowhere in this generation of high-def consoles!

I guess Resistance 2 can get a special mention as well. I enjoyed it more than Killzone 2!

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
