I don't want to do something because you tell me to. You have reached your own conclusions, and not sure what you expect people to tell you. You up to being corrected here? What do you want to be discussed?
Anyhow, the Playstation brand is pretty strong, the 360 did have RROD issues, and the price point was an issue.
By the way, I am curious what you think if the PS3 were priced at $200. Would it blow away the Wii worldwide?

well let's just think about that.
at 200 bucks the ps3 would be one of the cheapest blu-ray players on the market. that in and of itself would sell huge numbers. secondly, the wii was being outsold by the ps3 last month even though the wii was 50 bucks cheaper. now while this may be due to the reduction in demand in anticipation for a price cut, the truth is that the post price cut spike was nowhere near what it was for when the slim launched. this tells me that the wii has already squeezed the majority of the juice out of the market. i think the equilibrium point for the wii at 200 bucks will probably be somewhere in the range of where it is for the slim...even with a 100 dollar cost disparity.
so you tell me how it would do? i think the numbers speak for themselves.

Is the 360 inferior or on par to the Wii, or is it markedly superior as far as raw horsepower goes, and media functionality? Maybe one can argue it is because of RROD. Beyond that though? Well, the Wii outsold the 360. The reasons? I would have to say it had to do not only with the cheap price, but the fact that the Wii was based around motion control, and being accessible to the masses. Where would having a same price point make a difference here, if the PS3 fails to have motion control and being easy to get into like the Wii is?
As far as being a cheap blu-ray player, that presumes there are masses that want blu-ray. Last I checked, masses aren't lining up to get a player that requires buying new disks all over, and a shift to digital downloads is what is happening. Even a Sony executive speculated the next Playstation may not even have a place to put in physical digital media.
